Today we’d like to introduce you to David Perkins.
Hi David, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My creative entrepreneurship journey began in college back in 2016 when I shooting sports photography during the offseason of football. My very first YouTube channel was created surrounded around fitness and motivation. As I learned more about videography I ventured into the fashion industry working in house as a product photographer & lifestyle creator for multi brands which then transitioned into working for my own clothing brand in 2020. After Covid restrictions were lifted & the world of content creation evolved into more than just a space of posting workout videos and outfit pictures, was eager to fund my clothing brand and that’s when the REAL entrepreneurial journey began. I Launched my own social media marketing company that was an umbrella company of my clothing brand called “choose wisely”. The sole purpose was giving small businesses, influencers & self employed individuals a chance to market their company socially with short form videography. After about a year of doing that, I felt overwhelmingly unfulfilled as I felt that I wasn’t pushing myself to my truest potential & that’s when the miracle happened. My social media accounts got hacked forcing me to restart from scratch. I lost everything I worked so hard for.. but it gave me a chance to reinvent myself in a space that highlighted me IN FRONT of the camera instead of behind it.
2022 I started to shoot more lifestyle content that included fashion, fitness, a few funny skits here and there. 3 years later, more than 350k+ subscribers later I’m here.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road has NOT been smooth at all. I’ve dealt with a lack of motivation, lack of direction.
I’ve sold my camera 10+ times due to financial importance but I always managed to get another one.
I struggled with friendships, constantly working hindered my relationships.
The road to get to where I am today was extremely difficult.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We live in a creative world where everyone has a specific “Niche” that’s labels the style or type of content they shoot.
I like to think I’m “un-niched”
I am a lifestyle content creator that specializes in short form & long form personable/realistic videography content. From the space of daily routines & healthy habits to fitness, fashion & all of my personal interest.
I like to think I have no limitations when it comes to creating the content I make. If I like it, I shoot it.
In my personal opinion, I think what sets me apart from others is my personality and unpredictable story telling. I’m a hyper positive, (some would say bubbly) person, but not overbearing hahah. My personality makes others feel good & feel motivated to be themselves and that’s what I’m so proud of.
I’ve made a career out of being myself & pushing others to be themselves.

Everything I learned has been self taught. All techniques, equipment, programming and efficiency was learned on my own.
I can proudly say that I used my free resources to get to where I am today when speaking about my creative skillsets.
