Conversations with Nicole Rose

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Rose

Hi Nicole , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Let me take you back to how it all started. I was inspired by Lana Del Rey’s music video ‘Ride,’ specifically the monologue at the beginning. Something about it sparked this blind faith in myself to write about my own life. I penned my first poem and shared it with my best friend, who encouraged me to post it online.

I began posting anonymously on Instagram, eventually becoming comfortable sharing intimate parts of my mind with my growing audience. As I connected with my followers, they began asking when I’d publish a book. That question ignited a new passion, and now, three books later, I’m filled with gratitude. It’s surreal to think that it all began with that one music video.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Has it been a smooth road? Definitely not. One of the biggest struggles I’ve faced is people having different opinions about what poetry ‘should’ be. But I believe art shouldn’t be confined to one mold. As I wrote in my new book ‘Tea’, ‘There is no wrong art, only those who view it, and have not witnessed enough life to truly see it.’

Another challenge was navigating the publishing world. As a self-published author, I had to own my journey and believe in my work, even when others didn’t. But I’ve learned that what matters most is staying true to myself and my art. When you have a strong sense of self, opinions don’t matter as much. Your people will find you, and they’ll understand your vision. You have to have a strong faith in that.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a poet, and my work is deeply personal. I draw inspiration from my own life experiences, as well as the world around me – whether it’s a powerful conversation, a moving film, or a haunting melody. I write about the things that spark my creativity and ignite my passion. I’m the author of three poetry books: Utopia, Immoral Rose, and my newest release, Tea.

When I share my poetry online, I strive to create an immersive experience that combines words with visuals. I craft ‘visual poems’ that showcase my aesthetic through moving pictures and images, capturing the essence of my words. I also create mood boards that reflect the emotions and themes behind my poetry, providing a deeper glimpse into my creative world.

This unique approach has helped me build a distinct brand, one that celebrates the beauty of poetry and the power of self-expression. I’ve become known for my whimsical, feminine style – think ‘girly poetry’ with a touch of magic. My aesthetic is unmistakable, with a predominantly pink color palette that adds a touch of sweetness and charm to my work. But what really sets me apart is how I’ve managed to merge my art with my aesthetic, creating a unique cross-market that appeals to those who share my sense of style.

By combining my love of poetry with my passion for all things girly and pink, I’ve created a distinctive brand that resonates with my audience. My ultimate goal is to make poetry cool and accessible to everyone, proving that it’s a powerful tool for healing, growth, and connection.

What I’m most proud of is the impact my work has had on others. I’ve received messages from people all around the world, telling me that my poetry has helped them see things from a new perspective, feel seen and heard, and find comfort in my words. That’s the greatest reward I could ask for – knowing that my work is making a difference in the lives of others.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is building a sense of community where people feel safe, unfiltered, and empowered to explore the truth in their lives. I believe that’s where the real magic happens – when we create a space where individuals can be their authentic selves, without fear of judgment or rejection.

For me, it’s not just about the numbers or the metrics – it’s about the person behind each number. I remember that every view, every like, and every book sale represents someone who has been touched by my work. That’s what truly matters: making a difference in people’s lives, helping them feel seen and heard, and inspiring them to embrace their unique style and femininity.

When I see the impact my work has on others, it fuels me to keep going. It reminds me that the beauty and magic of creating art is not just about self-expression, but about connection and community. That’s what drives me – the knowledge that I’m making a difference, one person at a time.
