Meet Theon Holland of Studio10 Fitness in West Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Theon Holland.

Theon, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started out going to the gym with my dad when he was training as a professional boxer. I was about 4 or 5 years old and couldn’t do much except jump rope, sit ups, and work on the speed bag. As I got older I got involved in other sports such as basketball and football. While in high school I was training as an amateur boxer under my dad, who has since retired from boxing. I also taught boxing/fitness classes at my dad’s gym. After high school I wound up playing basketball at the college level (American University) but after a year decided against continuing with the team and just focusing on my studies. Not long after graduating from AU with my bachelor’s in psychology I moved out to Los Angeles (I’m originally from Maryland). It was after moving to LA that I decided to get certified as a personal trainer. Not long after picking up a few clients I began teaching boxing again and people loved it. A fellow trainer referred me to Studio10 and I’ve been sharing my skills and knowledge with them since their opening about a year ago. Now I enjoy teaching/sharing what I’ve learned in and outside of the ring with my clients daily.

Has it been a smooth road?
I can’t say that there have been too many serious struggles on my journey to becoming a trainer in Los Angeles. Everybody that I’ve worked with thus far has been very receptive to what I bring to the table and I’ve been blessed to be surrounded with some amazing people.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Studio10 Fitness a group fitness circuit training gym with a personal training feel. We pay close attention to the things that matter such as form, breathing, movement, etc. We are focused on a process that is not only effective but also meaningful. Each of our clients have specific needs and we provide a wide array of exercises and classes to meet them. I not only teach some of our regular circuit classes but also boxing. Clients come and learn the fundamentals of boxing while maximizing calories burned and lean muscle production. As a company we find a balance between catering to what our clients want and what they need, while maintaining a no-frills mentality. We are results driven and our passion for fitness translates to our classes.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I would say that our city is a great place for business. We live in a place where our health is placed at the top of our priority list. Whether is if you’re just starting out or have been working out for a while, Studio10 has something to offer everyone.
