Meet Alya of Burbank

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alya

Hi Alya, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My story is one of reinvention, risk, and resilience. I was born and raised in the Soviet Union, where my love for music began at the age of seven. Classical training shaped my early years, instilling discipline and a deep appreciation for the power of melody. But while music was always my passion, my path was anything but conventional.

I initially pursued a career in journalism, covering some of the most intense and defining moments in history. That experience gave me a profound understanding of storytelling—how narratives shape the world and how emotions can be conveyed through words, tone, and rhythm. Eventually, I realized that my own story needed a different medium. Music had always been my first love, and I knew I had to return to it.

Leaving behind everything familiar, I stepped into the unknown and began building my career from the ground up. It was a journey of rediscovery, blending my classical foundation with modern sounds and personal experiences. My debut album, Ten Years of Solitude, was a turning point—an expression of everything I had learned, felt, and endured. Since then, I’ve continued to evolve, creating music that not only resonates emotionally but also pushes boundaries. You can literally hear this evolution from where I started to where I am today musically.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The roads I’ve traveled have been anything but smooth. Reinventing yourself is never easy, especially in an industry as competitive and unpredictable as music. One of my biggest challenges was stepping into a world where success often relies on connections, expectations, and familiarity. I wasn’t just starting over—I was doing it as an outsider, both culturally and artistically.

There were (and still are) moments of doubt, times when I felt like I had to prove myself twice as hard. My vision for my music has always been deeply personal, and staying true to that while navigating an industry that often prioritizes trends over artistry was a challenge. But I believe that persistence and keeping hope are everything. I refused to compromise my identity, and over time, people began to see and appreciate my work for what it is—authentic, evocative, and unique.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a recording artist and songwriter with a sound that fuses inspiration, pop, and dance. My music is deeply emotional, and I take pride in crafting songs that move people—not just sonically, but on a soul level. I’m known for my ability to translate raw emotion into melody, for creating immersive musical experiences that linger long after the last note.

My songs, such as Pleasure Is Mine and Hope, have reached audiences worldwide, garnering millions of views and streams. Seeing my music resonate with people across different cultures and backgrounds is something I’m incredibly proud of. I strive to create songs that are not just heard but felt—music that tells a story, sparks emotion, and connects us all in a universal language.

What sets me apart is my perspective. My journey, my classical training, and my willingness to embrace both modern and timeless influences allow me to craft music that feels both familiar and unexpected. I don’t create for the sake of fitting in—I create to express, to connect, to push boundaries and give “Hope” to the hearts of many.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Resilience. The ability to keep going even when doors close, even when doubt creeps in, even when the path is unclear (which my latest song, Hope, represents). The music industry is relentless, and success is never guaranteed. What has carried me through is my unwavering belief in myself, my willingness to evolve, and my refusal to let external pressures dictate my creative journey. Faith and hope are the foundation for everything I live by.

I believe that true success comes from authenticity and perseverance. Staying true to your vision, putting in the work, and never losing sight of why you started in the first place—that’s what makes the difference. And no matter how many challenges come my way, I know one thing: I will always create. Because music isn’t just what I do—it’s who I am.

Lastly, I would highly recommend you listen to my latest single, Hope. I believe it’s the message for this time in our world, and the lyrics are my own personal testament to who I am today.
