Today we’d like to introduce you to Miranda Watson
Hi Miranda , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My passion for design started in Cleveland, where my mother introduced me to antiques and classic French interiors. This early exposure shaped my love for curated, timeless spaces.
I have always been drawn to the balance between classic and contemporary design. Six years ago, I moved from Miami to LA, drawn by its creative energy and architectural diversity. I work in contract and hospitality design at Ligne Roset, collaborating on projects across the West Coast. This provides me with a strong foundation in high-end interiors while simultaneously building my own firm. Working in the industry allows me to continue learning from my clients and projects, shaping my approach to design.
That’s when Blonde + Brunette Interiors was born. My goal is to craft interiors that reflect my clients’ identities, blending elegance, innovation, and storytelling. Art and architecture continue to inspire me, and LA has been the perfect place to bring my vision to life. I’m excited for what’s ahead!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, the journey hasn’t always been smooth. I went to school, earned my degree, and then—silence. I wasn’t sure how to get started in the industry, so I worked various design retail jobs, trying to find my way. Moving around to different cities helped me grow, both personally and professionally. Each experience shaped my understanding of design, business, and myself as an artist. It took time, exploration, and persistence to carve out my own path in this industry. I realized that trusting my instincts, staying true to my perspective, and confidently expressing my vision were key to establishing myself as a designer.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
At Blonde + Brunette Interiors, I specialize in creating spaces that feel personal, layered, and thoughtfully curated. My design approach blends modern and classic influences, with a strong emphasis on space planning, storytelling, and the art of curation. I’m known for seamlessly mixing contemporary pieces with antiques and unique accessories that bring character to a space.
What sets me apart is my ability to balance elegance and functionality while creating interiors that reflect the identities of my clients. I don’t just design beautiful spaces—I craft environments that feel lived-in, meaningful, and timeless.
As a designer, I’ve also learned that taking your time with design is often the best practice. My own space is a work in progress. Some clients want results overnight, but I believe great design requires patience, planning, and thoughtful execution. Rushing the process compromises creativity and quality.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I don’t believe in luck—I believe God gives us everything we need. Things go right or left, and that’s just how design works. Every challenge is an opportunity to learn, adapt, and grow. My journey has been about trusting the process, staying true to my vision, and putting in the work to create meaningful spaces. I am intentional in everything I do and walk with purpose. Nothing happens by luck or chance.
