Exploring Life & Business with Ashley Wendt of Palm Tree Visions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Wendt

Hi Ashley, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story is quite a random one, after years of trying different things, going to college and nothing really clicking, I decided to move to Los Angeles to switch up my environment, it didn’t seem like too much of a risk since I’m originally from Orange County. When I moved to LA, I went to a trade school for something completely unrelated, but I bought a camera and wanted to start a YouTube channel as a hobby, that quickly turned into me, falling in love with the camera itself. Living in LA I started to meet different musicians and actors and would go to their shows and take photos and reach out to people I found on Instagram and offer them free shoots to build a portfolio since this was a new passion of mine. This effortlessly took off and my network started to build & I dove deeper into learning about this side of the business. I started my company Palm Tree Visions and have been full-time since 2018. Palm Tree Visions has become so much more than photos, I am now a director for countless musicians and their projects, as well as a platform to discover new artists showcasing their live talents, interviews, their stories, and much more!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s never a smooth road really, but all of the ups and downs are where the lessons are that help. You learn from your mistakes and make the wins that much better!

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Palm Tree Visions?
Music has been a major passion of mine ever since I could remember; live shows, curating playlists, awaiting album releases like it was Christmas, I would consume anything I could related to these artists, and I was always so fascinated by their creative life and equally who they are aside from music. I wanted to figure out a way to bring my passion for creating & my passion for music…together. Shooting for all these incredible artists was a no brainer and has been such a rewarding journey thus far. Creating “Their World” became an extension of my passion for artists and their stories. Humanizing these musicians allowed me to feel connected to them, it made me hear their music different. I want to be able to provide that same experience to others. I want to be a place where someone can discover their favorite artist. We offer services from A-Z for musicians to create visual media for their music!

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
The opportunities here in LA are unmatched, but sometimes you do realize you’re in your own bubble compared to the rest of the world. Traveling out of LA always feels like a nice reset.
