Hi Cynthia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It all began over lunch with my mom, where we talked about the possibility of one day opening a small business selling dresses. With my mom being a designer and seamstress since she was young, and my own passion for fashion and connecting with people, it seemed like a natural fit. Everything unfolded within the span of just one month, and my life was changed forever. We went into a local bridal store to find a formal dress for an upcoming event. Coincidentally, the store was right next to my workplace at the time. Not long after, my mom told me the owner was looking to sell the store. In that moment, I knew it was now or never. I set up a meeting with the owner, and from the moment I walked in, I could see the store’s incredible potential. I feel incredibly lucky and grateful for every client who’s supported us since day one, as well as for my family’s unwavering support. It feels surreal, but we’ve officially been open for over a year!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Going into this, I knew it wouldn’t be easy, and honestly, nothing can truly prepare you for starting your own business. I’m incredibly grateful for a friend who has been a huge help along the way. She and her husband run a truck repair company, and her guidance has meant the world to me. When I had no clue where to start, she pointed me in the right direction. I’ve had to learn so many new skills—marketing, rebranding, accounting, sales, and so much more—all at once. It was definitely overwhelming at times, and even now, it can still feel that way. But I remind myself to take it one step at a time and tackle each task as it comes.

Bonita Boutique is a bridal store specializing in Quinceañera dresses, Sweet 16 dresses, wedding gowns, and formal dresses. We’re known for offering the latest styles, custom dresses, and exceptional customer service. What truly sets us apart is the experience we provide for our clients. The dresses we offer are for once-in-a-lifetime occasions, so I make sure every part of the process is as special as possible for each person who walks through our doors. I absolutely love what I do—each time I help a client find their perfect dress, I feel incredibly fortunate and grateful. I’m thankful they chose my store for such an important moment in their lives. In addition to dresses, we also offer tuxedo rentals, baptism outfits, and much more!
