Today we’d like to introduce you to Totran Radke
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
From an early age, I developed a deep appreciation for the value of education and community service. My academic journey began at UCLA, where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science. During my time at UCLA, I was actively involved in several extracurricular activities, including serving as the Vice President of Philanthropy for Alpha Epsilon Phi. In this role, I organized and led initiatives to support charitable causes, fostering a culture of giving and collaboration. Additionally, I participated in student government, cultural organizations, and volunteer initiatives that focused on empowering underrepresented communities. These experiences honed my leadership skills and deepened my passion for civic engagement.
After graduating, I continued to stay connected to my alma mater by serving as the Chair of the UCLA Young Alumni Development Council. In this capacity, I worked to strengthen alumni engagement and create opportunities for recent graduates to connect, contribute, and thrive within the UCLA community. This involvement further solidified my interest in combining strategic thinking with community-oriented solutions, paving the way for a professional career focused on impactful results.
Building on this foundation, I have developed a career centered around strategy, innovation, and digital transformation. Through roles at AT&T, Photon, and my consultancy—Radar Strategy Group—I have collaborated with global brands to implement creative solutions, optimize operations, and deliver measurable impact. My work spans various industries, leading marketing campaigns, enhancing user experiences, and advising senior executives on strategic growth opportunities. These roles have allowed me to merge my analytical mindset with a passion for driving meaningful change.
While professional success is fulfilling, my heart has always been deeply rooted in community engagement. I began my civic journey as a Neighborhood Watch Block Captain, first in Torrance and later in Rancho Palos Verdes, helping to foster safety and connection among neighbors.
Currently, I serve on the Infrastructure Management Advisory Committee (IMAC) in Rancho Palos Verdes, contributing to discussions that shape the development and maintenance of vital public infrastructure. Beyond formal roles, I actively support education and community initiatives, stewarding Little Free Libraries and mentoring young leaders through Girl Scouts.
These experiences have shaped my commitment to creating vibrant, inclusive communities and demonstrate my belief in the power of civic engagement to improve the lives of those around me. I am passionate about bringing people together, solving challenges collaboratively, and paving the way for a brighter future.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
In 2017, I faced a significant professional and personal challenge. While working at a dynamic digital marketing agency, I enjoyed collaborating with talented colleagues and innovative clients. However, after sharing that I was expecting my second child, I experienced clear discrimination from leadership. Recognizing the toll on my well-being, I made the difficult decision to leave without a new role lined up. This pivotal moment led to the creation of Radar Strategy Group, where I built a fulfilling career in strategy consulting—a journey that ultimately brought me to Photon.
While the experience at that agency was traumatic, I am thankful for it as it underscored the importance of compassionate leadership. It inspired me to create an agency centered on the well-being of people, fostering kindness and understanding for both employees and clients. I am committed to ensuring no one faces the mistreatment I experienced, and this vision continues to guide how I conduct business and treat employees, clients, and partners alike.
