Hi Katayoon, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
It’s been an interesting journey getting to where I am today. Growing up, I faced various challenges that taught me resilience and shaped my work ethic early on. Law wasn’t the easiest path—I worked hard to push myself to the top of my class, transferred to a top-tier school, and overcame setbacks to pass the bar.
Now, I’m proud to co-lead a firm that blends creativity, heart, and results. Every challenge along the way has shaped my perspective, and I’m grateful for the journey that brought me here. It’s taught me the value of resilience, hard work, and staying true to myself—and it’s made every success that much more meaningful.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s definitely not been a smooth road. I’ve fortunately faced challenges that forced me to grow in ways I didn’t expect, even from a young age. Balancing school, family responsibilities, and showing up for the people I care about taught me resilience, but law school pushed me even further—transferring to a top-tier program, handling personal loss, and struggling through multiple attempts to pass the bar. Each of those moments tested me, but they also strengthened my drive.
Even now, running a firm comes with its own set of challenges. Building something from the ground up while staying present for my clients, my friends, and myself isn’t easy. But those experiences have shaped who I am and continue to drive me forward.
I once heard someone say, “It’s been an uphill climb, but the view from the top is worth every step—and every stumble!” That sentiment resonates deeply with me. Every challenge, every stumble, and every triumph has been a step toward something greater—and I’m grateful for the climb.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I am the one person who actually listens to CLEs—the continued learning education videos mandated by the state bar. Instead of just meeting the 25-hour requirement, I go above and beyond because I genuinely enjoy staying sharp and learning new perspectives. It’s a bit nerdy, but I’ve found so many gems in those sessions that help me approach my work with fresh ideas and strategies.
Beyond that, I love using apps like Evernote to stay organized and Audible for audiobooks when I’m on the go. A favorite podcast of mine is The Daily Stoic—it’s a great reminder to stay grounded and focused, even on hectic days. I’m also a huge fan of Atomic Habits by James Clear. It’s a game-changer for building better habits, both personally and professionally. Whether it’s a new app or an inspiring podcast, I’m always looking for ways to level up and bring my best self to the table.
