David, we loved learning your story, but I think our audience is going to appreciate learning about the product side of your story as well. So, maybe you can help bring everyone up to speed?
“Bee Conspiracy” is my award-winning novel that delves into the interconnectedness of bees and our food supply. The massive die-offs of honeybees due to colony collapse disorder present a threat to all humans. The book is a blend of gripping storytelling, vivid characters, and thought-provoking themes.

Set against the backdrop of Los Angeles, the story follows LAPD Detective “Duke” Wayne and Kelso Bagley, a methodical Special Agent with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service who specializes in the study of insects. They team to investigate what seems like an accidental death from bee stings, but Kelso is sure it’s pre-meditated murder.

Their investigation uncovers a larger conspiracy at play which endangers the lives of loved ones, not to mention Duke’s career. Can they navigate this underground world of weaponized insects and come out alive? Read it to find out!

The story evolved from my research into the field of forensic entomology, which is the use of insects as crime scene clues,” says David Boito. “I wanted to create a story that not only entertains but also provokes thought about the role of insects as more than pests.”

Do you have any interesting customer success stories you can share about folks for whom your product was a great fit?
Early reviewers have praised Bee Conspiracy, noting its compelling storytelling, well-developed characters, and ability to keep readers engaged until the very end. One reviewer described it as “…One of my favorite books for the year. It had everything – action, laugh out-loud scenes, lovable characters, great banter, fascinating facts, edge of your seat moments, heroes, suspense. The chase scenes were the best!”

Kirkus Reviews calls it “A seriously fun ecoterrorism thriller.”

Have you tried any fun, non-traditional marketing ideas? If so, we’d love to hear the story and details.
I spoke about the book at a beekeepers conference meeting where they discussed helping people with bee infestations safely relocate hives from their homes. Beekeepers described climbing tall ladders in full protective gear including veils, then employing bee smokers to safely extricate hives. Leave this type of thing to the professionals, folks. It requires skill and experience. But the rewards of saving bees’ lives are sweet as honey.

The beekeepers that read the book were quite complimentary and felt that it portrayed their profession accurately and in a positive light. Beekeepers love this book.

What’s next on the product or brand roadmap?
I have a new novel in the works set at the Tower of London in England. An estranged father and daughter must navigate a modern day siege of a medieval castle in the midst of a 21st century city.

I am also developing a sequel to “Bee Conspiracy” as many readers have expressed interest in more stories with the two characters featured in the novel: Detective John “Duke” Wayne and US Fish and Wildlife Special Agent Kelso Bagley.
