Rising Stars: Meet Tyson Fields

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyson Fields.

Hi Tyson, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always known I loved music. My parents put me in voice lessons at ten years old from Rock U 2, the Academy of Popular Music. I began singing at venues such as Fairs, casinos, and restaurants not long after that. I soon found that I loved seeing smiles on audience faces and seeing them sing along. I started choreographing performances and started taking dance classes at 12 years old to help with that process. I started with only hip-hop dance and have since taken various dance training from ballet to contemporary to ballroom. I am now part of a competition dance team and have recently been awarded Prodigy by NRG Dance. At the same time I started to dance, I went to Walt Disney World where I was competed amongst 500 other youth from around the world and won Top Vocalist.

As I’ve gotten a little older, I found that I truly enjoy writing my own music and got curious about mixing my own sounds. I have had the opportunity to write with talented songwriters and producers. I am currently working on finishing up mixing and mastering my first original song that will be released soon. I started homeschooling last year to have more time to really focus on my music. Since then, I’ve studied music production, worked with others who know more then me, done a lot of songwriting. I have started working with Paula Anne and her team with Ablaze Entertainment who have helped guide and direct me with my music journey. I’m excited for everyone to hear my first original song on all streaming platforms very soon!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I have been blessed and have had a great support system behind me to encourage me to follow my dreams but there have been bumps in the road… – I’m a perfectionist so it slows processes down of getting things done as I tend to not want anyone to see or hear it until I feel like it’s ready. – Not knowing the music business and all of the intricacies has slowed down my progress, but I’ve found a great group with Paula Anne and Ablaze Entertainment to help guide me and that has made a huge difference. – As a male dancing, there have been people who didn’t always support me because “dance isn’t something guys should do” – There is only so much time in the day to do everything that needs done and to become great with dance and music while juggling school it takes a lot of time. Homeschooling has helped give me the time I need to focus on music and dance.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am an R&B, Pop singer, songwriter, producer, dancer…I love what I do and have worked really hard to continue growing in all of these areas. What am I most proud of: The song I am about to release…It’s been a lot of hard work and all of the lyrics, beats, vocals, & production is mine. I do want to say that there has been a lot of other work done in the background from a lot of others including Paula Anne and Ablaze Entertainment that is greatly appreciated…I’m so very proud of the product! What sets me apart from others: I choreograph the dance moves for my performances as a singer, I’m able to sing and dance at the same time. I write my own music. I make the beats to my own music and have begun producing some of my own music as well.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
So, I have some of NF’s lyrics on my wall and I really live by them, “Life’s about taking chances, maken’ moves, not about what you did, it’s about what you do. Build on what you get, learn from what you lose. Never let people distract you from being you.” I like trying new things with my music…the more you try, the more you grow.
