Rising Stars: Meet Tia (PrettyT) Boyd

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tia (PrettyT) Boyd.

Hi Tia (PrettyT), so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am a resilient, strong Black self-made Entrepreneur. Despite everything I’ve been through in life, I’m still able to shine and be a blessing to others. I have two children that I can show greatness too, and they can look at me and say if my Mom did it, so can I! Growing up in Baltimore, you really have to have thick skin. My life wasn’t the greatest or the worse. I made a lot of stupid decisions and now I’m trying to make lots of smart ones, lol. My passion is Cooking and helping, in that order. Cooking is my release, my outlet in this crazy world. It’s so calming to be in the kitchen cooking for others. I aim to please through cooking, to spread love and light through my special soul food dishes. I learned from my Grandma who passed away a few years ago. My pasta dishes, salmon, baked mac and cheese and banana pudding are just some customer favorites! My mission is to continue to serve through cooking. I want to give to homeless through cooking, help younger kids find an outlet through cooking and expose them to things outside of their everyday environment. I want to be an inspiration to their women who can overcome abusive relationships, heartbreak, abuse and show them that anything is attainable with a change mindset and consistency to always be the best version of yourself a boss queen!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Having children early forced me to grow up at a young age, being a single mom I literally had to make money any way I could to feed my kids. Doing things I knew disrespected my own self, illegal things, just to provide. Being in horrible abusive relationships that did damage to my physical and mental health. Overcoming homelessness on the streets. Self-love is the only thing aside from God that helped me to heal. When you truly love yourself, you won’t just accept anything and you’ll always do your best in everything because you know what your capable of doing and achieving,

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
