Rising Stars: Meet Starrza

Today we’d like to introduce you to Starrza.

Hi Starrza, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My djing & makeup artistry started around the same time. I got into playing around with makeup looks heavily in my pre-teens and music has always such a huge influence in my life also a language I got fluent in at a young age. Every weekend my friends volunteered me as far DJ at that point so I took it a step further finding virtual djing, which led me to getting my first DJ board in 2014. I truly just stayed in that zone & God took me on a journey of a lifetime to this day, now making it 8 1/2 years (:

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I don’t think anything worth will be easy when wanting to create your legacy. Your life… I have & still go through every emotion on this journey but I don’t think that gets easier you just learn yourself. One thing that’s helped me the most was routine. It has helped me find a balance in maintaining my time when having a full schedule. It has helped my discernment with God. The moment I learned how to cultivate an inner safe space & time for my spirit to just be was the moment I stopped having to overwork myself. Opportunities that are for you will meet you even if that opportunity was meant to apply pressure.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a djing makeup artist (: those two worlds lived so separately from each other until the past year when they truly collided on their own.

I am most proud of my faith and integrity.

Everything sets me apart from others. That’s why I create to bring us a little closer.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I can’t predict the future. But I hope to see stronger communities being formed in every industry. Most creatives do what we do because we know we can express ourselves into a safe place that like-hearted people will find. So maintaining and growing that is always a win.
