Rising Stars: Meet Samuel Dawson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Samuel Dawson.

Hi Samuel, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Started playing in bands at 15 in a small town of Q-town, PA. After having to put the dream on hold to deal with just the “oh so fun, ups and downs of life!”. I moved to Nashville, TN. and after spend three years recording, playing shows, and working on the “elegant” craft of songwriting, all While going through a “No Big Deal” global pandemic. I decided it’s best to move to the West Coast, to Sunny LA, California. During a time where it feels like everything is falling apart no better place pursue the dream, where if it doesn’t work out at least the weather is great!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
A Huge struggle would be Starting a band right before a Global Pandemic. Which Obviously hits hard for everyone, but I utilized that time the best I could with recording a record, filming 2 Music videos, learning how to make my own merch, and designing my own Album Covers. My Biggest Struggle started before I get a chance to start this journey with the caring for and Passing of my mother that was a real “bummer” so besides that, I’m stoked on any difficulty along the way! It’s just rad to have the privilege to pursue this path!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
“All Along” is a band that is all about Interacting with the crowd and bring a “punk” performance that unites people together. I think what sets us apart is lyrically we have something to say it’s not just song whining over lost love or “whoa is me” we really just like to have fun and put a positive spin on nihilism, Like the Idea of Everything Sucks But that’s okay! It’s Punk Music For everyone.

“Happy sounding songs for sad people”.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I think my biggest risk is not having a back up! I have put everything into this! I have moved across the country, didn’t go to college, all the skilled I have learned ours for this! When I say it out loud, it sounds dumb haha! but I think this quote sums it up. “Everything is a risk. Not doing anything is a risk. It’s up to you.”― Nicola Yoon. I also have been known to use the popcorn button on the microwave so I’m something of a risk-taker
