Today we’d like to introduce you to Reena Tolentino.
Hi Reena, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My deep roots in creativity were formed during my childhood I can remember sitting at my grandpa’s architecture table doodling on draft paper. I took on other creative interests, like acting and singing, and writing, and have over the passed decade immersed myself full-time into painting.
My narratives are based on family, love, self and pop culture, and the infinite universe of quantum entanglement.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As an artist, my goal is to protect my creativity. I am creating a sphere so I can continuously be a conduit. Building the right teams is always a challenge and especially in maintaining the business behind the brand.
A way to avoid some challenges is always be improving on your ability to read people and their intentions.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My art is like a storybook, retelling of individual journeys of struggles and success through a multi-layered contextualization of abstract-expressionist energy. I am attracted to the use of negative space, picking the colors of vibrancy and monochromatic with Rorschach-ink style on linen, as each works foundation taps into our human emotion.
I’m most proud of my continual improvements in the business of selling the most luxurious commodity in the world- art.
What sets me apart from others is my versatility, paintings that pull from contemporary culture, entertainment, and sports. Artworks inspired by my global travels and love of the Renaissance as well as more recent history, Picasso, and other mid-century greats.
