Rising Stars: Meet Mitch Bradford

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mitch Bradford.

Hi Mitch, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m a writer-director and songwriter based out of LA. I’m a member of the Writer’s Guild of America. I left my job at Google four years ago to commit to my passions for writing, songwriting, and filmmaking full-time.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Some of it has been smooth! Some hasn’t! I think the biggest challenge has been building a new network. The technology industry and the filmmaking industry are very different. Moving to LA required me to branch out and start setting up coffees with people via cold calls and cold email. Building my network from scratch has been the biggest challenge, but now I know a ton of great people around town.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a songwriter and writer-director based out of LA. I write “California Country” songs. We just crossed +700K streams on Spotify of my tune, “Love is Kind.” This is from a record we cut live in Memphis at the famous Sam Phillips Recording Service. We’re gearing up for another record here in LA, something that will go deeper into the “California Country” sound — but I’m going to keep that under wraps at the moment!

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Dedicate time to your craft every day. If you know what you want to do or what skill you want to develop, try to dedicate 1 hour to it a day starting out. Once you build momentum, scale-up and soon you’ll be at the top of your field.
