Lithia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?

First and foremost my brand is NAILS B LIT, “Your Favorite Nail Technician!”
I was born and raised in Panama City Florida. A Proud City Girl. I’m 32 years old and I know you wondering how I got to where I am as a Nail Technician, right? Well, it definitely wasn’t easy.

I was denied access to going back to cosmetology school after my mother passed in 2010 and dropping out due to the depression. When 2018 came around, I would call it a blessing and a curse all in one. It was a blessing because October of 2018 I moved to Alabama which gave me a second chance to do what I always dreamed of doing, NAILS! I enrolled and finished school, class of 2021 and became a Cosmetologist. It was a cursed because the reason I moved to Alabama is due to losing what seemed like was everything because of Hurricane Micheal, a category four almost 5! And not to mention I got Falsely fired from my 9-5 job I had worked for five years! I was devastated and knew I had to do something so I went back to school for cosmetology. I vowed to myself that if I could help it, I wouldn’t work for anyone else again. It was time to build my own wealth within my family. Something I can pass down to them. Since then, I’ve been blessed with so many opportunities of becoming what I work do hard for, which is being a Celebrity Nail Technician! I have had the honor of working with a few as of now and the experience is something I only dreamed of. With these opportunities, I look to grow while connecting with the world with my passion.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The struggle I had was from a mental standpoint. Dealing with the loss of my mother, Hurricane Micheal, losing my job, and getting COVID19. I just find that I struggled with trying to believe in myself to do what I needed to do to grow or to expand. I lived in fear on the what ifs.

My cosmetology teacher in Alabama is the one who truly pushed me to see who I am and to take doubt out of my mind. She was not the one that would let you give up on yourself. Especially if she seen the potential in you.

My Family has also been the biggest piece of me overcoming my fears and struggles as well with all of their support.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As a Newly Upcoming Cosmetologist. I’m currently just focusing on nails(Press-Ons), acrylic application, skin and soon body contouring.

My brand is NAILS B LIT, I specialize in customizing press on nail sets, gel or acrylic including printing pictures of love ones to a favorite music artist. Pretty much anything you can save in your phone can be put onto your nails. I even have my own brand of Gel Nail Polish, 156 different colors.

I’m also focused on healthy skin by providing facial services that will help boost the confidence of women which is very important.

Within the next 6months I will be providing body sculpting services as well.

I know you may be thinking what makes me different from all the others right? Well it’s my vision, my mindset I have. I look at the bigger picture. I want more from my passion. Spas in different states all over. Using my passion to open my own Nail School to give younger generations a trade to fall back on. It’s important to me to teach and show my community how you can create opportunities for yourself instead of waiting for someone to give it to you.

I love what I do and I will get the most out of it. Nails is just my gateway to my ultimate goal. I see more than me just being a nail technician…I’m going to use my passion to expand my opportunities and others to do what we want to do.

My goal is to show that generational curses can be broken as long as we reach back to help our community.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I like when I see people encouraging others and helping people to overcome their obstacles. To see someone lifting up another is inspiring. It gives hope.

I really dislike greed and the envious of others in the business world as if it’s a competition. Instead of networking and growing and realizing that everyone is working toward the same goal which is to create a better lifestyle for themselves to put the ones they love in better positions.
