Today we’d like to introduce you to La’Crassia Wilderness.
Hi La’Crassia, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
When I was a child, I was so self-conscious of my skin. For most of my life, I had dry skin consistently and it played negatively on my self-esteem and it was so uncomfortable. My mother and I made countless attempts to find solutions, however, our tries went unfulfilled. By chance, we came across an African arts festival. There was an Africa woman selling shea butter and educated my mother and me on the benefits and the healing powers of shea. We decided to give it a try and low and behold it worked! I saw results instantly. My skin looked healthy and moisturized and ever since then, I was a true believer. I understand firsthand how frustrating it can be to use products that don’t work and how this issue takes a toll on one’s self-esteem. In 2014 after I dropped out of college, I was depressed, vibrating at a low frequency, and I was so lost and had no idea what my life had in store for me. I was searching for answers and I had no choice but to go within. This is what sparked my spiritual journey and my journey of radical self-love. I started mixing my own creations to heal myself and in the process of finding rituals that worked for me, Butter Love was born.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Growing my business for six years has not been an easy task. Being a boss babe is not for the weak. I have had so many ups and downs in business. Struggling to find funding. Going through constant growing pains. Finding our customer base. But through it all, I maintained my integrity and stayed true to my mission to heal. I trusted the process and with trust comes great things. I have taken my business from the ground up and went from selling eight jars of body butter at my first event to have a line of 18 different products and selling in 44 stores throughout the U.S and Canada! There have been times when I have wanted to quit and it seemed like my shoulders could not carry any more weight. But my community is strong, and my customers have faith in not just my products, but they have faith me in as a person and they actually care about my growth and want to see me succeed. That drives me to be better and to keep going. I give myself grace through it all and push forward keeping self-care at the forefront of my mind.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
