Rising Stars: Meet INE Icey

Today we’d like to introduce you to INE Icey.

INE, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’m a 17 years old recording artist from Memphis, Tennessee. It really all started with my upbringing; my mother and grandmother kept me involved in church services. My parents aren’t really into music but I have other family members who are. I grew up listening to a lot of Yo Gotti, Don Trip, and other great influential MCs. When I was younger, I used to always write poems and perform them for my school or for dignitaries. But, eventually that transformed into a deep passion for rap. I started to take my passion more serious when I formed a music label; Icey Nation Entertainment (INE) in 2018, ever since then I’ve been working day and night to accomplish my life goals and inspire others with my talents.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has not been a smooth path. I mean, it’s like everything else in life- You have to work for it. Although I come from a city known for crime, I’ve learned to never let that affect me and the way I move. I’ve learned to stay true to my progression as not only a musical artist but as a person as well. I hope to be an inspiration to others who can’t seem to find a way out. I want people to know that you can always hustle and develop a successful mindset. It’s never too late to renovate your hustle for the good.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Lately, I’ve been in the studio working on new singles; including my first project which is an EP entitled “ICEYLATED”. This is my first complete body of work and I’m beyond proud of the final product. I feel like I displayed my creativity with words and also gave that traditional ‘Memphis sound’ all while showing versatility. The entire project is produced by Memphis’s own; RealRed. And engineered by PT Da Producer. It is scheduled to be released mid-April 2021.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Yes, I want people to know that no matter what people say about your music, you can’t give up on yourself. When you get close to giving up; think about the people that’s believing in you and the things you have at stake. Now is the right time to work harder!
