Rising Stars: Meet Aye Cue

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aye Cue.

Aye Cue, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
As far as my background, I’m a musician/author from 5th Ward in Houston, Texas and a graduate of Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas.

I essentially started focusing strongly on my creative paths in Houston, Texas, dating back to my time in middle school. I always had a knack for writing sequels to movies, video games, and television shows; so with that and the love I have for music, I found my stride by combining those elements together. I would often write songs with music video & film ideas in mind, and once the songs were made, I would pen the treatment for the visuals.

Throughout the years, I began expanding my creative visions towards books, short films, skits and YouTube shows…while also continuing to create music. Doing this helped me also expand my collaboration opportunities and audience in various places such as Texas, North Carolina, and California.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Man, nothing in life you truly want will come without some sort of effort or pushback. At least, I would like to believe that.

Some of the struggles I faced over the years were imposter syndrome, not being able to properly finance or get adequate backing for my ideas, creative burnout, depression, and the feeling of just shooting ideas in the dark with no real light at the end of the tunnel.

At the end of the day, you just have to teach yourself that these struggles will pass and to take however long you need to clear & free your mind of any mental intrusion until you’re ready to create again.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
The main mediums of creativity that I dabble in are writing for books, film and music. I don’t really like to typecast or place myself in a box of one realm of creativity, as the various things I do intertwine, but for sure, those are what I’m known for. I’m also known for my sense of fashion, in which I found myself being a model and brand ambassador on more occasions than one for various photographers and brands. Including my own publishing and media company, Aconic Media.

Honestly though, I’m just proud that I’ve been able to create whatever I’ve put my mind to and have the position to influence others to do the same. I just enjoy doing me, being me, and remaining me when it comes to my craft, as I feel those factors are what separate me from the rest.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
I have so many childhood memories, but the ones that charge my craft are the things that empowered my imagination as a kid. I loved traveling to dream locations, reading comics & books, and watching movies & shows like; WWE, Cartoons, and Horror movies. I attribute those interests to family, friends, and my own personal fascination of art.

These days, whether I have to do them alone or with others that enjoy the same interests, I still love doing those things that influenced me as a kid, as well as trying new experiences.
