Rising Stars: Meet Alexa Danielle

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexa Danielle.

Hi Alexa, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Well, growing up I was actually a competitive gymnast. In the gym five days, 30 hours a week. I was introduced to structure and hard work pretty early on in life and I’d like to believe that I learned some strong principles that I try to let guide me as I navigate the music industry, now that my focus is singing and songwriting.

I’m 22 and even though I’ve always been a singer, music was not a world I really got into until I was in high school trying to figure out how I was going to detach my identity from this competitive athlete and find something else that brought purpose to my life.

I didn’t realize how gifted I really was in music until I gave myself time to actually explore it. I’m now on this journey of seeing where this gift takes me and I think God has already shown his presence in a lot of ways on this path.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Honestly, this industry is nothing I could’ve ever predicted. It is not for the faint of heart I can tell you that. I am still learning how to navigate many of the obstacles that I face internally and externally and as someone who gets overwhelmed by things pretty easily, I struggle sometimes. There’s a lot of pressure to “be somebody” in my generation, which can be really damaging to the human soul and a distraction from the real purpose.

Taking breaks is so important, even though we’re in a time where creatives are expected to produce content at a ridiculous rate, you gotta put the phone down sometimes.

I’m grateful for many of the opportunities I’ve already experienced in the short amount of time I’ve been at this. I mean, I released my first single January of 2021. There have been so many creatives I admire that show me love and support and it’s really validating. Anything worth having requires a certain amount of sacrifice and hard work and I encourage everyone to put that effort towards something you love.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do? What are you most proud of and what we can expect from you in the future.
I’m proud of my courage. The courage to take risks and even dare to believe that any of this could be possible for me. I’m proud of myself for always showing up even on the days I don’t want too. That’s the side nobody talks about. There’s many aspects about my life that I don’t have figured out and it’s so scary to me but here I am haha. I recently took a little break from creating so that I could regroup and make new music that feels good to my soul. There’s many amazing things to come this year and you can expect to hear my heart and stories through it all.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Being kind. I could stand to be kinder to myself also. And having undeniable persistence. Which is hard to do in my own strength sometimes so I keep a relationship with God.
