Meet Zoe Distefano of Inked Brands in Studio City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zoe Distefano.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Originally from the east coast I started working in production prior to graduation in New York City. After graduating, I began my journey out to Los Angeles where I found myself working in Entertainment Law learning the ins and outs of traditional talent deals. As social media began to explode all around us I was presented with an opportunity to work on the talent team at StyleHaul, Inc. – an MCN focused on beauty and lifestyle. There, I worked closely with an array of talent building their social presence, studying analytics to help bring their engagement up and work with strategic partners to bring in additional revenue streams. As the industry began to expand and new businesses emerged, I found my home here at Inked Brands as the Brand Director overseeing partnerships and marketing for all our partners.

Has it been a smooth road?
The biggest struggle I’ve experienced along the way has been dealing with brands and individuals who do not see the power of an influencer and their ability to sell to their loyal audience. As the industry is evolving every day I often call it the “wild wild west” and with that comes the ups and downs of changes within the marketplace and business standards.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Inked Brands story. Tell us more about the business.
Inked Brands was one of the first companies focusing on influencer e-commerce. We are a strategic partner for our influencers and focus on building an everlasting brand and shop outside of just who they are as a social media influencer. We tell their stories using custom, beautiful and unique product and focus on creating an everlasting brand that can stand alone on its own. We are an end to end solution and build out a custom e-commerce site, handle all marketing, customer service, product sourcing and design and fulfillment.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
This industry is constantly growing and changing, which makes it a compelling industry to be a part of. Our main focus will be on bringing more strategic partners who are subject matter experts with a compelling story and product line. Bringing our partners into more wholesale channels is a high priority for us as well as remaining the leader in the influencer e-commerce space. Influencers aren’t going anywhere anytime soon and they have a powerful voice in the marketplace.
