Meet Yoleine Dumarsais of Yellowbird Events

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yoleine Dumarsais.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Yoleine. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I had a production background, working at a wonderful production company for 5 years. I came to a point where I had to really decide if I wanted to continue growing in television production or if I should switch gears. I decided to switch gears, but everything fell into place along the way.

My first job was a design director for a bridal gown company and I thought I had found my niche in the bridal world, but it wasn’t until I also did a short stint working as a bridal consultant for Bloomies did I dive more into design. I was being paid to help couples design tabletop ware!

But the big bang was when I had the opportunity to freelance for a few event production companies and work with brands like Sweetgreen, Delta Air Lines, CBS, Google, etc. That’s when I knew I didn’t want to confine my skills only to weddings, I wanted to work with brands as well and integrate their brand goals into their event!

Has it been a smooth road?
There’s always a struggle when trying to run your own business. Especially one where it’s already a dense pool. There’s always going to be someone who does work way different than you do and they probably would be considered better. But I’ve learned to focus on my path only and continue to build it to where I’d like for it to be.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I’m an event producer. I produce weddings, dinner parties, corporate events, and parties. I love the design aspect about what I do the most. When I get clients that are open to designs that aren’t necessarily traditional, it excites me. I don’t consider myself traditional in any way, although traditions always work, but I’m all about trying something completely different and extremely new!

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Los Angeles has so much to offer and even though this business has a lot of event producers and planners, there’s always room for something new. There are so many different options and so much to be inspired by in this city.
