Meet Yolanda Oliver of Fearless Purposed Gems/Live Fearless

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yolanda Oliver.

Yolanda, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I was impacted by childhood trauma as a product of domestic violence in my home. Suffering from low self-esteem, self-doubt, I became a domestic violence victim at the age of 19. In and out of domestic violence relationships for over 17 years and compounded on that, I lost my first son when I was 27.

While going through trauma, I was silent. I masked all of my pain behind a fake smile, and continued moving through life, totally stuck in fear. I did not know where to go for support or have the heart to trust anyone to share my story. I was embarrassed, ashamed, and even when surrounded by people, I felt alone.

Finally, I ended my last domestic violence relationship at the age of 38. The awakening happened – I could no longer be silent, no longer live broken, remain paralyzed in fear, and no longer be ashamed and living with guilt. I could no longer play the role of great while destroyed on the inside.

Once I found a safe space to unload the weight, This was when the world opened up, and the work began. The work toward release, healing, and reconciliation so I can walk into my purpose, for myself, my son (blessed to become a mom again), and for the many women, I can serve in my sphere of influence.

After 23 years of leadership and success, I retired from the corporate sector to found Live Fearless Inc. in 2019. As a bi-product of working with the Live Fearless Inc. community of women, I started Fearless Purposed Gems CoachingServices. I understand from personal experience the need to have a resource just to listen. To have a judgment-free zone to release the impacts of life experiences, a place to finally unload the weight of trauma, grief, guilt, fear, shame, and disappointment to move forward in a life full of purpose and power.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Starting your own business can be both scary and wonderful all at the same time. The greatest lesson of entrepreneur life is knowing that you take on all the risks and rewards. Learning how to start a business, specifically a nonprofit, was a learning lesson. I have wasted many hours and money; however, it is part of the learning process.

I am most grateful for a family and life full of friends who supported me when my gift was just a seed. When I felt like giving up, I had people rooting me on to keep pushing. And I hear those voices every day.

It is so important to have a tribe of people who believe in your and your dreams. Whether it’s a tribe of 1 for 101, it makes the journey so much better. I have learned that support is a vital key to success. Building a support network that works for you and your growth is essential to the business’s lifeline.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Fearless Purposed Gems/Live Fearless Inc. – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
My gift is serving women and children. My ideal clients are single women and single moms. My business seeks to provide a premier coaching experience for women. I meet them where they are in their life journey. My goal is forward progression leaving behind emotional weights and embracing a life of power and promise as women identify and become who they are purposed to be.

I genuinely believe in catering my services to nurture individual learning styles. I am a certified facilitator, training developer, and a lean six sigma black belt. I love creating and delivering content that is important to women. It is vital to ensure that content is engaging to meet clients where they are and is easy to navigate.

I am an award-winning coach by trade. I have been coaching for over 23 years, guiding both women and men to exceed their goals and live their dreams. I mentor youth as the youth leader of my church organization and a den leader for the Scouts of America. The desire to serve women and children is one of the most fulfilling gifts. I consider it a ministry where people trust me to share their dreams, allow me access to work with them, and trust me to hold them accountable to make it to the finish line. And this is what I do through my one on one and group mentoring services for women.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Wow, my plans are so broad that I would take up the entire magazine to share. My short-term goal is to expand my sphere of influence through my podcast, which I am so proud to say the feedback has been so encouraging for me. It helps me know I am doing something right.

I am publishing my first memoir, which I am so proud and excited to share. It will be available for purchase the week of Thanksgiving. This piece brings readers through a journey. My goal is to shed light on what life looks like when women don’t deal with trauma, grief, shame, etc. I included affirmations and self-assessments for readers to go on a self-reflection journey with me. I have plans to write a children’s book as well. I look forward to hosting my first virtual conference in the 1st Quarter of 2021 and hoping to host an in person event later next year.

Live Fearless Inc we are committed to educating about domestic violence, so we offer Smart Learning Sessions to schools, churches, and other nonprofit organizations at no cost. We will continue providing our Grant and Referral Service Programs. My goal is to grow our Live Fearless Inc Community to 1000 Women, offering coaching services for domestic violence victims.
