Meet Yesterday’s Donuts

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yesterday’s Donuts.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
The band started with Dylan Yriarte lead singer/guitarist who formed the group during his sophomore year of high school 2016. We dropped our 1st self-recorded EP “Frankensteined” in 2017. Since then, the line up has been fickle due to different bandmates joining and leaving the group. We took a short hiatus, but as of July 21, 2018 the band consists of Dylan Yriarte, Johnny Celiz (Drums), Kelly Galindo (Bass), Louis Flores (Lead Guitar).

We started playing all types of shows from backyards to bars and venues all around our hometown like Pomona and Fullerton and even go further out to Fontana and San Bernardino. We then self-recorded and released our 2nd EP “Too Much Noise Not Enough Space” in early 2019. Our plans for the future is writing more music, keep playing rowdy shows, and connect more with our fans and local artists. As of right now we are working on our 1st official album! Which should be out sometime 2020, so stay tuned!

Has it been a smooth road?
Our hardest struggle in the beginning for a while was to find and keep a solid and dedicated lineup. And with our current line up, it feels very very good. Another obstacle at the moment is our punctuality haha.

Can you give our readers some background on your music?
We are known for our energetic and loud shows. What separates us is how we try to write different styles of songs so that we will not just stay in one genre.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Our city could be a good place to start or it can be alright. Sometimes there’s not much happening so when something does happen, it goes off. But sometimes our city doesn’t promote as much it should, and no one knows that the event/show is even happening.
