Meet Vivian Wieder of Customized Therapeutic Massage in Woodland Hills

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vivian Wieder.

Vivian, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I decided to become a massage therapist after my divorce. I was a single mother working to make ends meet. Needless to say, my life was full, sometimes overwhelming, and definitely stressful. During the process of the divorce I went to a massage therapist to help me relax and found that it not only helped me physically, but emotionally as well. The calm, quiet, and nurturing touch helped me gather the strength I needed through rough times. I became a massage therapist because I believe in the work and its ability to heal. I hope that I can bring the same sense of peace to others who are in pain.

Has it been a smooth road?
No, it’s actually been quite the roller coaster ride. While I was taking classes I thought I would work as a massage therapist on the weekends in addition to my full-time job. As I began to explore ways to heal myself, life took many turns but ultimately each turn led me to having my own business. One of my struggles was driving down Ventura Blvd. in the San Fernando Valley and watching all the massage places in every corner. I had to be creative and find my own niche. Helping others feel better, showing consistent results, caring for my clients and being a good listener are a big part of how I manage my business. My idea of a good massage is working on customizing the session, and specializing in the therapeutic aspect of each session.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Customized Therapeutic Massage – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.

Some of the conditions I treat include: Back pain, Knee pain, sciatica, TMJ, frozen shoulder, range of motion issues, neck pain, headaches, IT band, RA, carpal tunnel syndrome, lymphedema. I’m known for helping clients feel better, working with my intuition, listening to client’s needs, and offering an amazing Hot Stones Massage. My clients are referred to me through the offices of physical therapists, Pilates instructors, yoga studios and through my other clients. Referrals are 90% of my business. What sets me apart is my commitment to invest in my education and my curiosity to learn and explore. I love working as part of a team to help my clients feel better. My goal in working with physical therapists is to help improve client’s health and to prevent any future increase in pain. I use my strength vigilantly and tailor my level of intensity to my client’s needs.

My key to success is Young Living Essential Oils. Young Living Essential oils is a company built on the want and desire to change the standard of everyday life and improve overall health. Young Living oils are therapeutic grade oils that I use in my everyday life and some of my massage sessions.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
What I like about our city is the increasing amount of people looking to better themselves and their lifestyle. In Los Angeles, we are surrounded by nature and local farms. Organic produce/products are as popular as ever, and the desire to connect the mind, body and soul is becoming more widespread. We are surrounded by beautiful whole foods markets, organic and local small restaurants, and businesses like my very own that are looking to connect your mind and body. Although our streets can be busy and traffic can get the best of you, I’m happy that my location always have parking space available.
