Meet Virian of Global Beauty Maven in Westside

Today we’d like to introduce you to Virian.

Virian, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
A while back, I wanted to move in a direction where I could inspire people the same way I’m inspired to create. Having dropped out of college, I had no money just a dream and desire to break free from an unhealthy environment. I enrolled to Pacific Beauty College of Los Angeles to pursue a career in cosmetology.

After working in Hollywood, I quickly realized the level toxicity in the industry– from the products to the salons and its environment, I saw an opportunity to offer a better experience so I started my own business.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Being a child of immigrants and raised in Los Angeles, I was all too familiar with adversity which gave me the strength to deal with the colorful personalities of this great city. One of the biggest struggles was not having a car which meant being out the door by 5am to catch the metro and coming home as late as 11pm. Additionally, I lost clients every time I moved around the city and not just due to the change in location but because most of my clientele at the time didn’t truly appreciate my holistic approach.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Global Beauty Maven – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
As a Holistic Hairstylist using products that are sustainable, vegan, cruelty-free, organic and fair trade, I specialize in: Organic Color, Dry Haircuts and Relaxing Scalp Treatments. This is what I’m known for, which distinguishes me from the rest.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I’m looking forward to maintaining balance between my holistic business and being a musician. I’m currently spending less time in the salon and more time in the studio finishing my debut album set to be released in 2021.
