Today we’d like to introduce you to Vikki Krinsky.
Vikki, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My culinary education began when I took a trip abroad and serendipitously met a chef on a train. That encounter led to incredible connections, and soon after, I was able to apprentice in kitchens across Europe. When I returned to the States, I started working as a personal chef for Hollywood’s A-list actors and personalities. I now have 15 years of culinary experience as a chef for celebrities such as: Seth MacFarlane, Reese Witherspoon, Amanda Seyfried, Tobey Maguire, and more, and I also starred on CBS and Hulu’s “Recipe Rehab!”
Most recently, I recently launched a new line of plant-based B12 bars, VK Energy Bars, which utilize the powerhouse B12 vitamin as an alternative energy source to caffeine.
The VK bar was actually created during the filming of Seth McFarlane’s TV show “The Orville” to provide a substitute to his daily caffeine consumption. For a whole year, I developed and tested many variations of the bar on actors, security guards, and transport drivers on set, and after a few recipes, was able to formulate a highly effective delicious bar for all. The line now consists of three chef-driven flavor profile varieties: Almond Rosemary, Cocoa & Sea Salt, and Meyer Pistachio.
Has it been a smooth road?
I wouldn’t say smooth per se… I did however, set myself up to succeed through preparation. I’m a great believer in the motto, luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity. Things like the product not getting picked up on schedule before everything closed down for the July 4th weekend had me very stressed out – or having not ordered the correct barcodes for the pallet was challenging and confusing. I even tasted the bars and because of lack of sleep, stress and a bizarre headspace thought they were terrible at first taste. Once I settled down and got into a groove, I re-tasted them and found them to be as delicious as I remembered AND as the customers were raving about! A sure lesson in mind over matter.

I recently launched a new line of premium, plant-based B-12 bars that I am super excited about and proud to share with the world! Here is a bit more behind the wholesome ingredients I use in these bars:
Each of my bars are crafted around three key ingredients: delightfully herbaceous rosemary, fruity + antioxidant-filled olive oil, and umami + macro rich chickpea flour. Plus, they all include a super-dose of B12 (1000% daily value) for sustained energy without the crash. Aside from flavor, the rosemary is actually used to naturally preserve the bars and increase shelf life, rather than chemical stabilizers used in most energy bars. These wholesome bars are vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free, high in protein and fiber, and made with organic ingredients, with no added sugar.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I like so many things about LA. I like the access to the mountains and to the ocean. I like that the city holds an equally bohemian and luxurious energy. I enjoy driving through fabulously wide streets surrounded by the symbolic LA palm trees, the gorgeous craftsman homes and the incredibly friendly fruit vendors on so many of the corners! The truth is, I really don’t dislike anything about LA. I think it offers a wide variety of colors and textures and in any given moment, there is something to appreciate.
