Today we’d like to introduce you to Vijeyabhaskaran Mohan.
Vijeyabhaskaran, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Born and brought up in India, I took a leap of faith in my passion towards photography and moved to Los Angeles and join Brooks Institute to learn, explore and sharpen my photography skill set. When I started school I was keened on becoming a fashion photographer but, halfway through my course, I realized photographing products and beverages is what I loved, and I was really good at it. Sometimes discovering where you want to be in a certain industry might be hard or confusing but I’m glad I discovered it early, and I’m loving every step of the way to get to where I want to be.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I can’t speak for every photographer, but for me, it wasn’t a smooth road. The obstacles is what helps you to learn from the past. Mistakes will be made along the way, sometimes by ourselves or by everything around us. There were times when I was declined by photography directories, clients, agents. Times like that were hard, but I just had not to give up and keep working. Eventually, the directories called back, Clients came back, and photo agents work with you, It’s the all about not giving up when the whole world is against you.
We’d love to hear more about what you do.
I’m a Photographer/director specializing in Products, Beverages, and liquid. I help clients bring their vision for their Product(s) to life through photography and Motion. Everything for a shoot is planned, tested and delivered as the client wants. My team and I would go above and beyond to reach the exact Vision the client has for their advertising campaign. Its a lot of fun and when seeing the end result of creating an awesome photograph out of just an idea is what sets me apart.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I would say good luck exists if I won the lottery. HAHA.
I’m a firm believer of hard work never fails. It’s up to us to make the luck happen when we work hard and put in more time than our competition in what we love. There will be nothing but positive things happening for our business/personal life.
