Meet Victoria Vives Khuong of Reiki Wellbeing and EarthSky People in West Covina

Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Vives Khuong.

Victoria, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
There are so many different facets to my story that have all played such an important role in helping me get to where I am today. To convey the big picture, I would say that it started with my birth, as a racial outsider in my own country, at the end of Spain’s last dictatorship, but the details of this would be too much for now.

I’ll begin my story with my decision to move to the United States…

I had visited Los Angeles once before in 2000 as part of a music tour, and I had felt a strong pull to return since then. Through a series of life changing events in Spain, I decided that I needed to do something drastic so I packed a single bag and quietly left Spain for the Land of Opportunity without telling anyone.

You could imagine how I had a rough landing as I spoke very little English, did not know anyone, and had only my single baggage of belongings and about $300 in my pocket. I literally walked up and down the streets of LA looking for a place to stay and a place to work. I was down to $14 in my pocket and still without a job when finally, a man named Salvador from West Hollywood arranged my first job and made possible for me to survive in Los Angeles. Salvador was the first of many angels to enter my new life in America.

I subsequently got a few odd jobs, and finally started some steady acting, stunt, and modeling gigs, all of this while living in a tiny studio in Hollywood, with unstable income, for a number of years. I even got to produce some of my own music and short martial arts movies! Life was tough, as you can imagine, yet an incredible adventure!

A couple of years later, I underwent some serious challenges and life changing events, including being mauled by a Pitbull in downtown Hollywood. As I bled in the gutter, I was rescued by a man who I would have labeled as a vagabond, but when I looked into his eyes, I only saw an angel. This situation, as terrible as it felt, opened the door to the next chapter in my life. During the time, I took to heal from the dog attack, I was forced to take a break from Hollywood which I would never do. This allowed me to start a relationship with my soulmate that same weekend, whom I would later marry! Life happens in unexpected ways because he was key in my gradually moving from Hollywood life into a life of service through healing.

Life still had a number of curve balls planned for me but suffice it to say that my journey in spirituality was far from the calm and serene path of enlightenment that you might imagine. In many ways, you could say that on a physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual level, I was beaten, battered, and finally died only to be reborn and embrace my other long time passion of healing and spirituality. The walls of ego had been broken and the inner light could now shine and become a beacon to help others through their challenges and support them on their desire for empowered living.

With the help of the many mentors I encountered on my path and my husband’s support, I built so that I could share with others all that I have learned.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
What road? I have often felt like an ant on a leaf struggling to stay afloat through endless roaring rapids. This has been more like a series of trials like you wouldn’t imagine starting with a rough childhood in the ghettos of Spain with a single mother, success as an entertainer on Spanish television, a near death experience, a Kundalini awakening, uprooting from my homeland to new frontiers in the America, pounding the pavement in Hollywood, business and a radical career change, marriage and its many profound challenges… and that’s just scraping the surface.

Through my path in Shamanism and Spirituality, I’ve come to understand how all the challenges and obstacles in my life have served as vital pieces of a puzzle that have facilitated the love, awareness, compassion, understanding, and success that I am enjoying now.

Reiki Wellbeing (and EarthSky People) – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition? is the culmination of my spiritual journey. My business in healing started out in Reiki, as the name implies, but it has evolved into so much more than that and now includes Shamanism, Sound Healing, Crystal Healing, Kundalini Yoga, Sacred Sexuality, Meditation, and much more. We offer classes in-person internationally, creating a supportive and loving community wherever we go, as well as online.

I specialize in facilitating personal and spiritual healing and growth. We all have trauma to heal and potential to grow into– it’s part of being human. The crux of the matter is whether you want to heal and are willing to really look within and face yourself. It is this inward journey that I facilitate.

As a company, I’m proud of our genuine desire to see others succeed. I’m proud of our level of transparency and the balance we have achieved between our unconditional commitment to empower individuals and the boundaries that have been established to promote self-sufficiency and a healthy business. We lead through example and do our best to cut through all the hype and confusing misinformation that is out there.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I feel an indescribable sense of joy and pride for each and every one of my students who make the plunge to transform their lives. It takes epic courage to truly face one’s self in an honest way. You could say that it is the ultimate trial that separates boys and girls in adult bodies from the men and women who embrace their power and find greater purpose in a way that honors themselves and others. I really cannot say enough about these loving yet powerful individuals who have graced me with the opportunity to play the role of mentor and teacher in their lives.
