Meet Victoria Mae of Torie Mae in Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Mae.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Victoria. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
For the last two years, I’ve worked as a glamour, fitness & runway model. I get such a rush when I’m in front of the camera. Fashion and glamour tend to be the focal point of the majority of my shoots, but I also like to indulge in creative projects like body paint or visual art. I am currently working with the OTTO Modeling Agency as well as several up and coming fashion designers based in the Midwest. I have most recently been a visual art model for a portrait course at the ACC in Pasadena, CA. I currently do freelance work with the Michigan-based entertainment company “High Indotainment” and I was recently a runway model for the “Arts & Beats” festival sponsored by G.R.A.D Entertainment. In addition, I’m also the PROUD brand ambassador for EnvyLashCo, a glamour company founded in my hometown by my best friend.

I’d been doing photo shoots since mid-2015. Most of them were personal. I didn’t take it as seriously as I should have until I started traveling more often and random strangers would go out of their way to compliment me. The more it occurred, the more the idea of modeling piqued my interest. I’d applied to several different agencies and received mixed reviews, but I never let that deter me. Eventually, I found an agency that was pleasant and professional; the perfect fit for me. I’ve been grinding ever since.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I have faced my fair share of obstacles on my journey. The most difficult part has been trying to juggle my regular 9-5 jobs (on top of volunteer work) while still making enough time for modeling gigs. I am serious about my financial stability and I’ve worked two jobs for as long as I can remember. I also do volunteer work at a few elementary schools in Michigan. Balancing my personal goals alongside my financial ones have not always been a feasible task. I take pride in what I do and continuously strive to be the type of woman that young girls can look up to.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I specialize in glamour and fashion shoots. Those are my favorite. I’m mostly known for being goofy on the set. When it comes to placements for designer brands and high fashion, there is a stigma that everything has to be serious and uptight but that’s just not true I just like every shoot to be fun.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I could start over, I would have started taking modeling seriously even sooner. I’d also be more cautious about the people I trusted with my vision.
