Meet Victoria Holland of Victoria Ann Events in Sherman Oaks

Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Holland.

Victoria, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I first fell in love with weddings as a catering coordinator at the Four Seasons Miami. I learned so much about luxury hospitality as a whole while at Four Seasons and spent six years in the catering department. My husband and I moved from Miami to LA and I decided to go full steam with Victoria Ann Events. I did a lot of freelance work to get to know wedding vendors and to work at venues, and as time went on I was referred to couples by some of the other creative vendors I had worked with. I have been really lucky to have a referral base from a lot of my past couples and wedding vendors I work with. I believe always doing my best has allowed by business to grow as fast as it has.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has been a bumpy ride, but the best ride! I look back on all of the fear I had going into starting my own business, and wondering if people would hire me, and I remember my first couple, it was a dream come true, and I learned so much from just walking the path of wedding planning with them.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Victoria Ann Events story. Tell us more about the business.
Victoria Ann Events is a full-service wedding planning and design firm. We strongly believe in customer service and making sure all of our client’s dreams come true, big or small! We are known for creating an experience as a whole on your wedding day and turning your unique love story into the details of your wedding. We take great pride in hearing from our couples they have been told their wedding is the best their guests have been to, but also that they had the smoothes wedding planning experience. What sets us apart is my experience in the luxury hotel industry, it gave me the foundation to give all of my clients a luxury experience and the utmost customer service. Whether it’s being able to explain to our clients thoroughly their venue contracts mean, creating room blocks, or just knowing the lingo of hotels, it has proved to be a strong asset.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I am a huge believer in karma! I have always said if you treat people well, good things will happen to you, I believe that has really helped me throughout my business and given me good luck at certain times in my business.
