Meet Veronica Centasso Pranzo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Veronica Centasso Pranzo.

Veronica, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Born and raised in gorgeous Venice , Italy, all I wanted growing up was to become a ballerina and open a dance studio in my home town.

I did not want to study English because it was a “strange” language and I decided that in second grade when my teacher asked me to read the word ” ENOUGH” ( “ou” pronounced A and “gh is pronounced f? what a strange language!).

I did not want a Driver’s license because who needs a Driver’s license when you live in a magical city like Venice? Well, life had different plans for me. I started a summer job in the hospitality industry in 1995 while recuperating from a small injury that kept me from my ballet company for a few months. While in Sicily I met an amazing man that later on became my husband and the short summer job became two years between Sicily, Sardinia, Morocco and Cuba caring for VIP guests of luxurious resorts, organizing welcome cocktails, choreographing evening shows and make sure guests had amazing experiences at the different resorts’ restaurants.

This is how I got to love event planning but it took me an extra eight years in the Caribbean launching my own boutique and managing my own vacation rental property to feel economically stable before launching my first event production company, the V Stylish Events based in St Martin in the French West Indies. In 2010 I was among the first graduates of Preston Bailey’s Wedding and Event Designer Certification Program.

In 2013 I moved to Los Angeles with my family and two dogs. I opened Veronica Pranzo Events and the sister company that focuses on weddings Los Angeles Exclusive Weddings.

Since then I have written two books (in English), had my own radio show about events, did an event for 150 UN female delegates in New York and was one of the 6 designer finalists at the 2017 international Special Event expo in Long Beach.

I feel I did a bit of growing since the second grade and today I have my French driver’s license along with an American one, and I speak four languages.

Right now I am looking to open a third branch: ExclusiveWedMoons. It will be launched in December 2019 and will be dedicated to destination weddings and honeymoons in the Caribbean.

My motto?

Life is too short for average!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing ever was an easy ride. From suffering from being far from the rest of my family to struggling to understand and feel like a part of different cultures, traditions, and ways to do business. From crying because you feel like a failure on those days when you opened the fridge and found yourself staring at empty shelves. From feeling like all your efforts were wiped away after a category four hurricane jeopardized your future.

From feeling absolutely insane to leave a lovely life behind in the Caribbean to start yet a new life in USA, going through frustrating, expensive and complicated immigration processes. From working day and night to build your brand just to have cyber squatters take your business name away from you to trying to understand and stay away from self-proclaimed GURUS that promise you the world and disappear with your money.

Easy? I would like to try something easy one of these days just for the experience because so far everything that I have been able to build has been the fruit of trial and error and labor and teardrops.

Please tell us more about your business.
Veronica Pranzo Events was founded in 2011 with the goal to serve the busy clients that want to host amazing events in style. My motto is: life is too short for average. So I want to encourage my client to take the time to celebrate each milestone, life accomplishment, success or important life event with style.

Los Angeles Exclusive Weddings focuses on wedding packages in order to lift the stress off the bride and groom and to offer an elegant, cohesive celebration day to the happy couple and their guests.

In spring, we opened up the market to Italians that want to get married in California. We assist them with all the bureaucracy along with all the logistics that a destination wedding requires.

ExclusiveWedMoons feels like it was the missing piece for me: A way to stay close to my Caribbean heart and a way to offer my 17 years of experience in that part of the world to my clients that are looking for a heavenly background for their “I Do’s” or a magical honeymoon.
