Meet Vera Nelson of Hythe Realty

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vera Nelson.

Hi Vera, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
It was a natural transition to real estate as I loved flipping homes and architecture. Over 20 years ago, I wanted to expand my knowledge and ability to help others achieve their dreams in homeownership. I owned retail businesses and loved customer service and satisfaction at the highest level. Working for Century 21 Masters, Coldwell Banker/CB Realty, and Compass gave me the foundation of corporate real estate businesses. Working my way to top 1% producers was competitive and expected year after year. Navigating the real estate market can be extremely challenging especially nowadays. It’s essential to work with seasoned experts who have a thorough knowledge of the industry. The credentials are essential-I am a 2022 Real Estate All Star for LA Magazine and Pasadena Magazine. top 1% Nationwide. I began Hythe Realty with my partner Barbara Richardson King as a woman-owned business during COVID2020. Hythe is an old English word for safe harbor, small port, safe landing. We are a safe landing for all things real estate. A boutique firm with 15 Professional Agents at the helm for every level of Care in real estate.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The real estate industry has been like no other period in the past two years. We do things differently, so the challenges are easier because the playing field has been leveled. Every Agency/Brokerage needs to redefine their brand and place in the scheme of service in real estate. It was the perfect time to do something new and exciting. The value of experience is endless. Each day brings new scenarios where leadership and knowledge is key. The Realtor is needed in our industry. We provide the newest and greatest model- It’s about the client. Serve the client first. Not the corporate bottom line.

As you know, we’re big fans of Hythe Realty Inc. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Hythe offers an extensive list of services that includes everything from real estate transactions and consultations to straging and revitalizing homes. Whether buying selling or renovating. We don’t just say goodbye when the keys and transaction is done. There are upward of 20 or more collaborative businesses that are involved when needed. From a tried and true resource list of service providers, professional attorneys, staff celebrity stager, video producers, mortgage brokers. Many satisfied clients have left positive reviews for our company and thanking us for helping them navigate challenging negotiations and praising the knowledge and positive attitudes of our company. It means a lot to have so many people believe in our woman-owned brand. We will continue to go out of our way to make a difference in our clients’s lives. Our logo represents people’s roots and their home, all the way to their dreams and beyond. The sky is the limit.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Real Estate is the best industry to work in and be collaborative and successful. A great mentor is key. Experience from the “Veterans” in the industry is key. Thankfully, my Broker was my greatest mentor when I began my career in real estate. Her name was Teresa Ting at Century 21 Masters. Her investment in me made me who I am today. There are very few who care about the integrity of the industry and paying it forward. When you have the opportunity to learn from a seasoned Broker or Realtor, do it. It’s worth everything to you. Your confidence and commitment are key.
