Today we’d like to introduce you to Vanessa Broin.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started my career as a makeup artist working for makeup counters, my first job in cosmetics was with MAC. I then went on to work for other lines, Chanel, NARS, and Giorgio Armani. Over time I was able to build the confidence and clientele to venture out on my own. I started Bee Pretty about 6 years ago and I love the independence and freedom working for myself has allowed.
Has it been a smooth road?
I was nervous going from having a steady income to an entirely freelance career. It took me a long time to get comfortable having faith that I would get enough work to make it on my own.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Bee Pretty – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Bee Pretty does makeup for all occasions; from corporate headshots to a glam night out. I would say that I am best known for my bridal makeup. My work has been published in several bridal blogs and magazines, namely; Southern California Bride, Green Wedding Shoes, Grey Likes Weddings, Ruffled, Wedding Chicks, and Gardenia De Agosto. I also received an award from The Knot as one of the best wedding makeup artists in Los Angeles a few years back. My signature style is creating clean fresh looks for my clients that accentuate their natural beauty. All my makeup services are mobile so clients love that I travel to them so they can relax and get pampered.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love the South Bay area! I grew up here and don’t see any reason to leave, we have amazing food, beaches, and a laid-back lifestyle which suits me. The only complaint I have would be the LA traffic.
