Meet Tyreece Santana

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyreece Santana.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’m originally from The Bronx, New York and I came to Los Angeles to school at the University of Southern California. It wasn’t until I was halfway through college—actually while I was studying abroad—that I decided to pursue music. I wrote my first song “Through The Music” in Auckland, New Zealand. Since then, I’ve haven’t stopped writing and making music.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Hell no. Nothing about this road has been smooth. I am still broke, I am still struggling to safely be a Black man in America, I am still fighting to make honest and truth-speaking music versus making music in the style that the industry favors. The struggles don’t stop, I’m just learning how to better navigate them as they come along.

What else should our readers know?
I am rapper. I am an advocate.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Shout out to my momma, my grandparents, my older brother Jodyy Tee, my little brother Tre, the whole Humble World crew, my best friends 2GDN, EaSway, A La Mode and all of my fam!
