Meet True Allah of Francisco St. Productions in Bay Area

Today we’d like to introduce you to True Allah.

True, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I got my start as a Hip Hop Dancer in 1989 for a popular Oakland group by the name of A.P.G. When I was 15, I convinced the principal of Newark Memorial High School to let me bring my group to the school’s theater for a lunchtime performance that would change my life forever. During that show, our incredible DJ-J Cutt showcased his skills and that was the day I decided that I was going to be a DJ for real.

Fast forward some 30 years later, DJing has taken me all over the world and looking back on my High School days, I was always meant to wear the many hats I wear today. Booking Agent, Promoter, A&R, Engineer and all-around worker Bee.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
There have been struggles every step of the way. The struggles are what make the accomplishments that much more enjoyable.

Francisco St. Productions – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Francisco St. Productions is the umbrella for the services that I provide. Booking talent/tours is pretty much my day to day as well as being The Bay Area’s Most Exciting DJ. I would say that I am most proud of the annual Slap Frost Tour that I founded in 2014 along with Z-Man and Vocab Slick. There was a need for talented but independent artists from The Bay Area to gain exposure outside of their home area. We decided the best way to conquer this issue was to combine our collective connections/experience and to travel outside of The Bay. The first journey consisted of 12 cities throughout seven states. In nine years, this was expanded to 57 additional cities and nine extra states. The Slap Frost Tour has provided 7 Bay Area Natives with their 1st Tours EVER and added fanbases to the likes of Locksmith, Paris, Chino XL, Planet Asia, Gavlyn, Zion-I and Casual of Hieroglyphics. On January 17th, the latest iteration titled the Slap Frost Revue will embark on its first Nationwide outing. Tour dates can be found at

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to me is being in a better position than you were last year and being able to provide opportunities for others that were never available to you when your road began.
