Meet Treveino Scott of FirstPHAM Fitness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Treveino Scott.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Treveino. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Fitness has always been a part of my life with playing sports as a youth and teen, but it wasn’t until I suffered a slight tear in my ACL at 26 that I started considering becoming a personal trainer. My physical therapist at the time had me doing a lot of my recovery work in a pool with resistance bands and I must say she was very detailed in the way she structured each and every session that we had. During that time, I realized how much I had taken for granted the actual science of the body so I made up my mind that I was gonna learn the craft of personal training. Once I was certified, I started teaching a small Group class of Seniors at the local gym in Myrtle Beach, SC where I’m originally from. After a year or so under my belt of that and a few 1on1 clients, I made the decision to finally get up and get the heck out of South Carolina and made the jump over to Cali. LA was a different vibe from the jump, especially as a personal trainer. I had to grind a lot harder than I had ever done before in Carolina to garner clientele, well at least that’s was what I thought. After about four years of working for small gyms and others, I found my niche with social media and doing just enough branding of myself that I felt comfortable to step out and do my own thing. I now offer a mobile service of personal training that allows me to service my clientele in places where they not only feel comfortable but also safe and secure especially within these pandemic times that we are living in. Side note I’m also an official self-published author as well with the release of my 1st book “Finding Vino” this past July.

Has it been a smooth road?
Definitely hasn’t been the smoothest of roads, but I wouldn’t change any of the lessons that I’ve learned along the way with failures. One of the biggest struggles was actually trusting in the knowledge I’ve gained over the last 12 years. Everyday there is a new method to do this and that, but what allowed me to stand firm in my practice of training was the simple fact that I not only pay attention but listen to my clients when it comes to their overall physical needs. This practice of basically shutting up and listening allows for me to tap into their mental psyche so that I may truly know how to formulate each and every session per person.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Aww, man the best way to describe all that I offer as a trainer is a little taste of everything. I specialize more so in bodyweight and resistance band training mainly for the overall benefit of these two methods helping to set the tone for not only actual muscle but core stabilization. When you train with me you’re assured a couple of things: 1. You’re gonna get your butt kicked and like it later. 2. We are definitely gonna have fun while doing such. 3. You will not like me throughout the entire session but will love the results you see after consistent training and proper eating habits for whatever your goals are. The fun aspect is probably the most proud and what I feel sets me apart from others. I believe that you CAN do both when it comes to working out and having fun, but hey that’s just me.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Look as someone that once thought that he didn’t have enough clients and can honestly say that there is never really a such thing in LA. If you know your craft and exude such, along with making yourself available to others, then success will arrive at your proverbial front step. Just have the wherewithal to know that entrepreneurship requires tons of grit, grind, and patience. LA is definitely one of the best places to be as a trainer because there is ALWAYS somebody looking for a personal trainer, trust me.
