Today we’d like to introduce you to Tré Thomas.
Tré, before we jump into specific questions about your work, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
So I begin in entertainment as a host. I hosted the HBCU college tour during undergrad and a lot of local events in Texas and Louisiana. I was able to network with a lot of industry executives and after graduation, my career in entertainment begins. I was so critical of the way I was filmed on camera that a producer told me “boy you definitely have a career waiting for you as a Creative!”
I’ve never been shy of attention and will talk to anyone. I met a Def Jam exec my Sr. year in college and upon graduation, she offered me a Creative Director, Coordinator role. This was my first journey into entertainment. I am a huge fan of music, film, and television so I always knew this would become my life.
Throughout the years, I worked for a plethora of celebrity campaigns as a creative, project manager, and administrative support that it opens many doors to meet many people.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has definitely not been smooth! Really stressful and discouraging at times, but I believe in manifesting your dreams! The first thing I told Diddy when we met was that I’ve been saying I would work with him since a child! Literally, anyone who knows me will tell you I have ALWAYS used Mr. Combs and Terrence J as my blueprint to success. They really helped a little country hoodlum become more confidence because of their stories!
Please tell us more about your work. What do you do? What do you specialize in? What sets you apart from competition?
I currently support Sean “Diddy” Combs in all his business needs. Being around his energy and the fact he trusts me to get shit done is a huge honor. Working for him is not having a title because you will be doing EVERYTHING he feels you can do! Whether it’s reading a book and writing him an essay on your thoughts to creating a community initiative for the betterment of financial literacy for black people, you will get it done! Its really a can’t stop, won’t stop energy when you are around him.
Combs Enterprises is like no other company. It specializes in excellence! It thrives in entrepreneurial mindsets!
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Man, honestly working for Diddy! Like how many people can say “I work for Diddy” ESPECIALLY after saying it for so many years! I am happy to be that example to others and say “CHASE YOUR DREAMS AND CLAIM THEM!”
I made it from where I am from and I am grateful!
