Meet Trailblazer Staci Levine and Tia Tuenge

Today we’d like to introduce you to Staci Levine and Tia Tuenge.

Staci, a marketing specialist and owner of PR & marketing agency  SLPR, and Tia, a multi-media artist and scholar of ancient feminine history, met through their daughters and quickly discovered they both had a desire to create sacred experiences for women. Tia had been hosting small monthly Full Moon gatherings at her home and wanted to share them with a wider audience, and Staci has 30+ years in marketing and thinks big. It was a perfect pairing.

One day, chatting over lunch, they decided to partner and Sacred Woman Retreats was born…

Our goal was simple; bring women together to uplift and inspire one another and create sacred space for connection. We set out to build a company that would offer monthly gatherings at various locations throughout LA including art galleries, yoga studios, and unique event spaces. Additionally, we wanted to host international retreats as a way to create an opportunity for deeper connections and bonding — the next retreat will be held in Tulum in October 2019. And finally, our in-home retreats would give people who might not have the resources to go on a retreat the opportunity to experience our program.

We truly believe that collectively we are all craving meaningful, in-person connections – the opportunity to step away from technology, daily routines, and to-do lists to have nourishing experiences that feed our souls. Our promise to our tribe is that you will leave any of our events feeling inspired, rejuvenated and with new meaningful friendships.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
We’re in the business of hosting luxury wellness and empowerment retreats for women, so finding the perfect location and putting together our team requires diligence, flexibility, and a little faith that everything will unfold for the highest good of all.

This venture is both of our second businesses and we’re approaching things a little differently than the first time when we were younger. We’re definitely clearer as to our life mission and the need for life balance. But of course, even starting a business later in life with years of experience, there are still challenges – there will always be challenges and we know if we don’t make mistakes, we don’t learn + grow. One of the biggest challenges we face is capturing the content we need to express our vision -and keeping up with the ever-evolving world of digital marketing. There will always be so much to learn and things we don’t know so we’re committed to constantly absorbing knowledge.

For anyone starting out or wanting to start over, first of all, it’s never too late. Don’t question or doubt yourself, trust your intuition when making decisions. Find your passion – and if you don’t know what that is, get out there and be open to exploring and trying new things and organically you’ll figure it out. Remember, if you truly love what you do, you will never feel like you’re working a day in your life. That may sound cliche, but we know it to be true.

Then, choose your team wisely, look for the top people in their field even if it feels like a stretch to ask. The worst thing that can happen is they say no.

Sacred Woman Retreats designs sacred space for women to gather and connect, free of competition and judgment. We offer a place to be authentic, to become a part of a tribe and form a sacred sisterhood. To be empowered, inspired and supported. Every event is so unique and special and meeting new people is really the highlight for us.

So much of the media coverage is focused on the challenges facing women today, but what about the opportunities? Do you feel there are any opportunities that women are particularly well positioned for?
This is one of the most magical times for women. We believe there’s a movement of women who are beginning to claim their sovereignty and we’re seeing it when we gather women together. We’ve heard it be said that each time women gather together with each other, the world heals a little more. That’s pretty powerful.
