Meet Trailblazer Sabby Michell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sabby Michell.

Sabby, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Growing up, I loved to sew and make my clothing designs come to life. In college, I had a ton of internships in the fashion industry! I later opened up a small online clothing site with a friend, where I was able to learn SO much about the industry and business in general. Through all those experiences, I came to realize that I love creating content and working with others. The thought of blogging was intimidating at first- but one day I just decided to go for it!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Getting started is the hardest part. The most important thing to remember is that you have to start somewhere and you have to be your biggest fan.

We’d love to hear more about your blog.
My blog is mainly focused on fashion, beauty, travel, and lifestyle for all. I am from SoCal so a lot of my style and taste is influenced by beach and dessert trends. I think one thing I am most proud of is that I stay true to myself in everything I blog about! It’s really important for me to be authentic and genuine with my work.

So much of the media coverage is focused on the challenges facing women today, but what about the opportunities? Do you feel there are any opportunities that women are particularly well positioned for?
I believe that anyone can do and be anything they set their mind to! In the world of social media particularly, a lot of women have built their own empires and businesses through their platforms. I think it’s amazing! A huge majority of my following is women and I know that I wouldn’t be able to continue my work in blogging if I didn’t have such supportive people around me. I get so much encouragement from other female bloggers and I think that’s something really special to be said about this community.
