Meet Trailblazer Rachel Schwartz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Schwartz.

Rachel, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
After breaking three bones in my left leg, the months I spent recovering at home made me think about the fact that I was taking my health for guaranteed, At the time, I was working my way up the ladder at my 9-5 job in retail management.

Once my leg recovered, I was surprisingly let go from my 9-5 job which was a total blessing in disguise as it freed up my time to really find out what I was most passionate about. I came across the occupation Nutritionist and knew it was my next career move. Once I was a practicing Nutritionist, I set a big goal to not only start to weight train for the first time in my life but also to compete as a bodybuilder.

This initial big goal sent me down a path that has forever changed my life! I competed 3x as a bikini bodybuilder qualifying me as a national competitor. After I accomplished stepping onto the stage, placing 1st in my height and getting into the best shape of my life. I then realized I wasn’t happy with my diet.

I wanted to transition to a whole food, vegan plant-based diet. Educating myself in further nutrition, I learned how to fuel myself properly while achieving a lean and athletic physique. Getting lean on a vegan diet was at first especially challenging. It took time to get my body dialed in and I became to realize many people who were vegetarian or vegan also struggled the same way I did.

I became so passionate about the new lifestyle that I shifted my nutrition practice to focusing on helping women lose fat and tone up while eating more plants. I now help women who are either plant curious or are currently either vegetarian/vegan. I have created my dream job and I absolutely love what I do.

Has it been a smooth road?
Absolutely not! This has most certainly been a journey. Not knowing where my end goal really was or where it’s going next, I just keep pushing forward and taking steps in the direction that I want to go. Most importantly, I stay focused on my WHY, never stop believing in myself and my mission to help women.

We’d love to hear more about Rachel Schwartz Health.
I’m a certified nutritional consultant, who is currently attending university part-time to earn my BA in Nutrition Science to become a Registered Dietitian. I specialize in helping women (I do have men as well) with losing fat while toning up. My nutrition business is 100% online and all of my coaching programs are customized to the client’s diet preferences, and schedule.

I have been vegan since 2014 and love to help people who are wanting to transition to eat more plants or are already currently vegetarian/vegan.

Finding a mentor and building a network are often cited in studies as a major factor impacting one’s success. Do you have any advice or lessons to share regarding finding a mentor or networking in general?
I 100% recommend hiring help to grow! Utilizing others to help elevate you will propel you in the direction you want to go and get you there much faster than if you were work at it all alone. It will save you time and money.

Don’t be afraid to invest in yourself whether it is hiring a mentor or coach. You can never go wrong investing in yourself! I’ve found that anytime I invest in myself I SHOW UP so much more with the added accountability and direction.

I recently joined a mastermind group and have met some of the best like-minded female entrepreneurs who have really help me network and create lasting friendships. This has been great for leveraging my current audience and mixing with my new friend’s audiences to build a better tribe.
