Today we’d like to introduce you to Onayeme Jelugbo.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Onayeme. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started my blog in November 2017 because I couldn’t find any relatable inspiration for women in my demographic. I wanted to see more people who looked like me with similar interests but I never found any. Finally, I realized that if I wasn’t seeing it then I should create it and maybe I could inspire someone else. I have always loved fashion and my blog is my outlet of showing the world.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It definitely has not been smooth, but that’s something that I like about it. Since there is no rule book or guidelines, that means that I can make my own map. It can be daunting and at times discouraging but I always remind myself of why I chose it and that gives me just the motivation I need to persevere. I would advise any young women starting to trust themselves and do their best because at the end of the day you must be proud of yourself.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Power Instincts- A Fashion and Lifestyle Blog – what should we know?
I’m most proud of the fact that I do my best to be myself, I don’t write about things that don’t interest me and I don’t promote products I don’t believe in.
What’s the most important piece of advice you could give to a young woman just starting her career?
To do her best according to herself, because that’s the only person you really have to answer too.
