Meet Trailblazer Kristina Coelho

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristina Coelho.

Kristina, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Almost a year and a half ago, I started my blog, Laugh Love & Hippie. I’ve always been the shy girl growing up but never afraid to be myself. I started my blog as a way to help others learn more about different makeup and beauty products. The more I blogged and found that others actually liked what I had to say, I started showing more of the fashion side. As time went on, I found myself becoming more confident and started doing YouTube videos to go along with my blog. Never did I imagine, I would be doing the things I’ve been doing because of blogging. It’s helped me express myself better and I feel inspired by my readers to keep doing what I love to do. My main goal was to help others when it came to finding that right makeup product or to be more confident rocking an outfit you never thought you could and to always keep a positive attitude.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
This journey has been amazing. Not saying it’s been a smooth road but it’s what I love to do. I taught myself how to build my own website, take quality pictures, and edit videos for my YouTube channel. I love to learn. Any bump in the road just makes me work harder. I always try to learn from my mistakes and not take them so seriously. Life is a learning lesson and I keep a positive outlook even in hard situations. My advice to anyone starting out in the world of blogging is to just be YOU. There are so many bloggers out there but if you’re different and yourself, that’s when you’ll find success. There’s only one you and that’s your superpower. And don’t worry about followers. To be honest, a lot of bloggers I looked up to when I first started out only have that many followers because they bought them or did a giveaway. Don’t be discouraged by numbers. Focus on real and authentic people who are truly interested in what you’re blogging about.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Laugh Love & Hippie – what should we know?
I’m a full-time beauty and fashion blogger. My passion is makeup. I’ve had no training or lessons when it comes to makeup and I learn from other bloggers. I wanted to show what I know, in hopes it will help someone out too. I don’t hide my imperfections and I try to let others know that it’s ok to be different. You know how many times people told me not to get tattoos… but it’s what I liked, so I got my whole arm tattooed. Haha!!! I’m so proud of Laugh Love & Hippie because it’s my own space on the internet to be my authentic true self and to encourage others to do the same.

Do you recommend any apps, books or podcasts that have been helpful to you?
My favorite book that I just got done reading is The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F*uck by Mark Manson
