Meet Trailblazer Francesca Ragucci

Today we’d like to introduce you to Francesca Ragucci.

Francesca, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Entrepreneurship found me early on in my life. When I was in middle school, I started to babysit for families in my area. The responsibility of establishing clientele, maintaining positive relationships and accessing current clients to receive referrals gave me foundational business skills that I use to this day. Independent working to make my own lifestyle made me feel excitement to be of service to others. This endeavor transitioned into my high school and college years as the primary form of a working lifestyle. I created my schedule with multiple clients throughout a week and upheld integrity within these opportunities.

I took up a passion I enjoy even to this day, photography. Photography was an outlet for me to socialize and meet organizations for photoshoots. Associations around my campus hired me to photograph their events for presentations and social media. At that time, Twitter was the go-to app for college communications. To the time of writing this article, one of the pictures I photographed of my university, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, is still the main cover picture on their Twitter page! Thankfully my signature is on the images as proof.

Every moment of freedom gave me a purpose. One day in college, I gazed out the window on a rainy day and felt confident in myself to access entrepreneurial work outside of college. The university days came to a close and I was unsure of my definite next move. One aspect was specific, being an Entrepreneur was the journey for me.

Crafting a master plan together, I knew photography was an easy way for me to hone skills to help inspire others. Art shows and exhibitions made way for the opportunity to present my pictures to the masses. These pictures hung in coffee shops and popular gallery shows. After the art shows, I decided to see how my talents can help business people regularly. I developed an interest in assisting Realtors to access superior photographs to aid in their social media marketing. Photography opened the door for me to gain clients in the area of marketing. This is how Francesca Ragucci Marketing came to fruition. Today, my company helps our clients redefine their reputation using social media as a tool of communication.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Our clients are national from Los Angeles to Boston. By partnering with clients, we enter new markets at the same time. Each client has different needs regarding communication and service. My business is well adept in catering to our clients in personal ways that are best for them. In growing Francesca Ragucci Marketing, I am learning that to have successful relationships, boundaries must be set at the time of consultation and even when necessary during the relationship. By boundaries, I mean a consistent flow of clear communication. This involves establishing email and phone calls, deadlines for work and a flow for the clients to follow to review strategy. I found it pertinent to have all clients be on the same schedule in regards to communication during the week. My company has arranged times for recurring client meetings and arranged times for new business consultations. This gives us the flexibility to organize the activity. Maintaining effective workflows and boundaries with our clients helps us have honest communication.

I had reached a place in my business where I felt stuck. Feeling stuck was a challenge for me because I was facing a crossroads of hiring or staying solo. My full desire is to hire and develop this business as a company. Francesca Ragucci Marketing is transitioning from an individual to a company experience for all clients. The courage to take my business to a new phase is prevailing over any perceived challenge in my way.

My advice for young women and men for that matter is to hone in on passions that can make you the lifestyle of your choice. Do not let anyone tell you otherwise. Always be honest with yourself and have integrity in your actions.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?

Francesca Ragucci Marketing has a finesse of adapting with ease to our clients’ character and business. Our clients are our partners with courage in their actions and integrity in their work.

So much of the media coverage is focused on the challenges facing women today, but what about the opportunities? Do you feel there are any opportunities that women are particularly well positioned for?
Firstly, I am positioning this answer as one woman speaking directly from my own experience. Each woman and person has their own genuine experience.

The way I step forward as a leader is not by my gender or any other demographic I possess. I choose to step forward by my character. My character is what leads the way for me to embark on an endeavor of my selection. I can certainly empathize with women who feel indifferent about stepping into a position they desire. To that, I say women in the workplace have as much of the opportunity as men to take on leadership roles and new challenges to become changemakers. Many times one woman taking on a new adventure with gumption and courage will find her way. The experience of going after what you want is all emotional. The emotions of fear, eagerness, joy and sadness come along with prevailing through challenges and experiencing a journey that is uniquely yours.
