Meet Trailblazer Christina K. of

Today we’d like to introduce you to fashion and lifestyle blogger Christina K., of

Christina, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I moved to Los Angeles two years ago from NYC to launch my blog and business, I had worked as a writer for big fashion brands, until I decided I wanted to be my own boss and wear “many hats” creatively speaking; to do more of the things I love, like working as a writer, stylist and creative director, while pursuing my passions for acting, songwriting, dancing and writing poetry.

I was content with a corporate career, that in all honesty paid well for me to be creative. But along the way, I abandoned my artistic journey for a job that left little time for me, and my health. It wasn’t until I decided to move to L.A. to focus full time on creating that I realized a fashion blog could be an extension of my creativity to inspire others. Now I find I channel so much creativity through blogging and during shoots, by modeling and styling the clothes, creative directing and writing.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The process of stepping out on my own to share my creative pursuits hasn’t been easy. In the past, I really wanted to be onstage and share my creativity in many areas, but stage fright got in the way. I slowly gained the courage to perform as my art was recognized more and more by art teachers and writing professors and entered into school photo contests, literary magazines and my college newspaper. And despite those fears, I majored in music performance in college, acted in community theater and took acting classes at NYU. Most recently, I sang and danced in an emerging artists’ showcase in NYC. Now I’m so proud to bring my creative vision to life on my blog, as a business, partnering with brands on collaborations to inspire the fashion and lifestyle space. And I’m living a life in line with my creativity. I want to inspire others to conquer their fears, to feel empowered and to dream big. To me, that means feeling good inside and out. I want to share how fashion and creativity, along with some bold choices, can take you there.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of. is a fashion and lifestyle site out of Los Angeles that encourages women through fashion editorials, trend posts and personal stories to use fashion as a source of creativity and inspiration in their own lives, to set goals, even live out dreams. That’s what I hope my story can show others.

Do you have any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general? What has worked well for you?
Networking can certainly go a long way and joining a group or connecting with artists who share your vision to help get it out there. I wrote about this recently on Artfully, and how to stay inspired throughout the process of launching your project. Being creative with personal style is just one of those ways. Fashion has been there all along for me on my creative journey. I hope Artfully, will inspire others to create and take chances.
