Meet Trailblazer Cedestoni Salazar

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cedestoni Salazar.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Cedestoni. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Infinite Beautique has had its name since 2016; however, did not fully launch until January of 2019. I became an Esthetician when I pursued my passion for skin care. I loved everything about skin care from the different ingredients, to the anatomy of the skin, to hair removal (waxing). I attended Paul Mitchell School in Pasadena, CA thinking I was going to perform and love more of the facial side of the field. I was wrong. I was more interested in the waxing part, along with most of everyone in my class. It was fast-paced, and the best part of it – I was able to talk and engage more with my clients. Facials are more relaxing so you don’t speak too much to your client as you want them to just relax and enjoy their facial. I am a very outgoing and talkative person so the facial part of the field was not something I felt like I wanted to pursue full time after getting my license. Waxing was where it was for me.

Soon after, I obtained my license, I started working for a wax company called European Wax Center in Brea, CA. I loved it there! My co-workers were amazing and my clients all became good friends over time. Eventually, I became one of the top wax specialists in our franchise of four stores. This is when I knew I didn’t want to work for a franchise anymore and work for myself, & be my own boss one day. I dreamt of having my own suite where I can have my own business and my own schedule with my free time. I needed a way out to make sure I was going to be good financially to just pick up and leave.

I have always had an eye for eyebrows and a perfectionist when it comes to them. There is so much opportunity in this esthetics and beauty field that I decided I wanted to get into microblading. Microblading is a semi-permanent tattoo procedure which a small handheld tool that is made of several tiny needles are used to add pigment to the skin to mimic brow hairs. This was the turning point of my career. I launched my business the moment I finished my training and started working on clients and showcasing my work through social media. I used to model years before and have built a pretty strong platform from it. I knew I was able to use that to jumpstart my career with all the support I had from friends, family, and the industry.

A few months into microblading, I received a huge opportunity to work as a wax educator for a startup wax company, LALA Wax. I guess you can say I put my big girl pants on and moved on up to corporate life. This company is pretty much everything I wanted to do. Instead of working for a franchise and taking client after client, I am now on a team of wax educators, building curriculums and going to different salons, schools, and tradeshows, teaching licensed individuals how to use LALA Wax and it’s products properly. I get to teach everyone what I know already and use that towards my advantage. And since this is corporate, I have my weekends off and this is where I continue to still do what I love – wax and microblade my own clients, on my own time.

Next month, I will be getting the keys to my own studio in Brea, CA at the Phenix Salon Suites. My vision for Infinite Beautique will finally happen. I will continue with LALA Wax but Infinite Beautique will be open after 6 pm on the weekdays and Saturdays and Sundays by appointment only. I will also be retailing LALA Wax aftercare products along with my own faux mink eyelash company, Lashes by Cedestoni.

Has it been a smooth road?
It definitely has not been an easy road. There were a lot of times I just wanted to give up. I felt stuck and didn’t know what was the right path to take. I wanted to do everything but I knew it wouldn’t happen overnight. In order to start, you have to know and learn to invest. I didn’t come from a wealthy family or have someone invest in me. I saved and did and still doing this on my own. I always say I wish I knew I wanted to do this sooner in life, like straight out of high school. But I look at what I’ve accomplished and I wouldn’t change the timing for the world. I always believe that everything happens for a reason AND at the right time. Where I am now, everything has aligned and happened for a reason to get me where I am now.

I would tell the younger women to take your time. Plan it all out and build that vision board before you jump into something that you can’t handle. There are thousands of products to research before you choose which one you want for your own company. Even though I know which brands I love, I am always still looking.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am an Entrepreneur. I have my own company called Infinite Beautique where I have the following services: waxing, microblading/ombre eyebrows, and coming soon – lash lifts, facials, and microneedling. I am an Esthetician, Wax Educator, and a Permanent Make-Up Artist. I also have my own lash line called Lashes by Cedestoni. These lashes are all faux mink.

I am most proud of myself. I never thought this day will come so soon. This was part of my 5-year vision board and it happened in three.

I believe that my drive and passion sets me apart from others. Don’t get me wrong, we all as entrepreneurs have it in us. But I am definitely the stereotype of what I want, I will get it. I have spent sleepless nights, early mornings, late nights planning everything out from start to finish. I love to update everyone on my social media platforms how I’m doing and the status of my business and what’s going on but no one will ever see the times I have cried my eyes out wanting to just give up, wishing things would just get handed to me.

Do you feel like there was something about the experiences you had growing up that played an outsized role in setting you up for success later in life?
As I mentioned before, I didn’t come from a wealthy family. As weird as it sounds, I actually have had people thinking I have and that this has been just given to me and I have all the help I need. This is not true. I grew up very active in student council and ASB took Honor Roll and IB courses and played sports my entire life. My hardwork and strive for success has always been characteristics many have told me they admired. Waking up early mornings to go dancing rehearsals, to staying after school for meetings, setting up the stadiums and gym for rallies, having volleyball practice and games – I’ve done a lot and I wouldn’t change it for the world. Each sport, activity, and event has shown me different ways to better myself and definitely challenged me for obstacles that I faced growing up.
