Alexis released her debut EP “Running Wild” under Empire in 2018 setting the tone for what to expect from this black-haired electric powerhouse. Alexis started out in bars and coffee shops in 2016 venturing to some of the top venues in LA including, The Mint, The Hotel Cafe, The Peppermint Club and was booked as an MTV talent in March of 2019. Currently working on her new project, expect to hear the truth and feel exposed.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Getting to where I am today has not been a smooth ride. From going from manager to manager to stolen showcases at labels to getting my entire relationship aired out on national television, every step of the way has been its own obstacle and learning point. I think we have to keep in mind that every step is going to be a lesson and will get us closer to where we are supposed to be even if it doesn’t seem like that when it is happening. I am a firm believer in “God gives his hardest battles to his strongest warriors.” It is SO important to find the silver lining in negative situations and use them to better your craft and move forward.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
To make it as simple as I can; I love to sing to people and make them feel like they aren’t alone. I want to write songs for people that are going through things and are thinking there is no possible way someone else could feel how they are in that moment, and through my music, realize that someone DOES get them and DOES hear them. I want my songs to continue to be as open and candid as I am proving to be in real life and help people as much as I can along the way. I am an underdog and like to stay that way. People not believing in me makes me HUNGRY and proving them wrong is the BEST satisfaction.

What’s the most important piece of advice you could give to a young woman just starting her career?
Heartbreak is only heartbreak until its a hit song or a hit album. Find the positivity in the discomfort and sadness.
