Meet Tracy Stillwell and Janel Rowden of Always Engraved in Long Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tracy Stillwell and Janel Rowden.

Please kick things off for us with some background on the story.
We have been friends turned family for a while, starting a business together was something that was always in our timeline. We threw around a lot of different ideas. Ideas ranging from storefront businesses to kid/family activity centers but nothing seemed to stick. One day CJ came home and had decided on lasers. Tracy was very on board from the get go… just believing and trusting in the excitement CJ brought to the table. Steve was equally excited but Janel was not having any of it. We all banded together to convince Janel and speak to her creative side. Explaining that this would be such a great outlet for her to use her artistic design background. From there, we all jumped in feet first and haven’t looked back since.

Has it been a smooth road?
Yes and no. We have had our growing pains with adjusting to juggling two families (5 kids between us) while 3 of us worked full-time jobs and Tracy stayed home with her kids. Once we found our groove we were golden. And then recently Janel left her 9-5 to join Tracy in the shop. This has been a great transition to the two of us in the shop together.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Always Engraved – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
We can engrave on pretty much any type of material; metal, glass, leather, wood, acrylic, most plastics and pride ourselves in customizing to the individual needs and wants of our customers. We also try to give back to the community and run fundraisers for local schools, programs, clubs and rescues. It gives us such a great feeling to be able to give back to the community we love so much.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Hands down it’s the people and vibe. We have been so fortunate to meet some amazing people who have become friends. We can’t really say there are things we dislike… I guess we try to see the glass as half full usually.
