Meet Chris Thames-Rose of Today’s Loop in Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Thames-Rose.

Chris, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Life has been one heck of a journey so far for my team and myself. I’m originally from a small town Stamford in Connecticut. From there, I would go on to live in Florida, Jamaica, and England all before I was 13. After being exposed to different cultures, people, and businesses so much I became interested in Storytelling. This was from a young age I performed on camera for plays, wrote my own TV scripts for fun and overtime things came more together. I graduated from Florida State in 2016, during my time there I was a sports anchor for most of the sports teams, I was on the radio every week, conducted interviews on air with community figures and then I started TodaysLoop media outlet. The company took many twists and turns as a young startup. My business partner/Investor Jamar Lewis has been one of the biggest reasons our company is still alive. Sometimes he likes to call himself “the janitor” in a jokingly way because he’s the type of guy who does whatever is needed and gets the job done.

After college, I switched my focus solely on TodaysLoop social media accounts and work in the field going back and forth from LA to Miami. We covered the BET HIP Hop Awards in LA, Trap Circus Concert headlined by Kodak Black, Cardi B, NBA young Boy and many others in Wynwood Miami. Along with those we covered Miami Swim Week, the Overtown Music festival put on by Mike Headliner known for crazy parties at Liv and Story in Miami. We were also granted media passes at the American Black Film Festival which is considered one of Americas largest gathering of Black Filmmakers. While covering events we also started doing interviews. So far we have interviewed Shabazz the OG an Instagram star/Motivational Speaker/and member of Floyd Mayweathers The Money Team (TMT). We also interviewed Veronica Vega artist and former member of Love & Hip Hop Miami, she is signed to legendary producer Polo da Don. All these productions were put on completely by my partner Jamar Lewis and myself. We have decided to give viewers a new taste with our interviews however and we are in the works to have our next interviews even more compelling with an additional host.

Has it been a smooth road?
When it comes to business and the entertainment industry, I don’t think the word smooth can even be used. Our company has faced struggles along the way such as our previous Instagram account with 30,000 followers being deleted. Along with that our twitter account which averaged millions of impressions monthly was deleted by the twitter gods also. So with both our old social media accounts deleted and just our website left it was time to start rebuilding our social currency again. During this time we slightly pivoted with our website and we no longer reported news but we had found some success offering Concierge services to former people we worked with. Services such as Yacht Rentals, Hotel Suites, Car Rentals and more which can be seen on our new website here

There’s been many times where I asked myself why am I still doing this. Then I remember that Today’sLoop has always been for the culture and overtime we will continue to grow into companies Like Complex or Baller Alert. As the saying goes life is a marathon not a sprint, and I can promise anyone that our company has new plans in the work we plan to execute.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
We cover events (Restaurant openings, Concerts, Fashion shows, Festivals Ect) and make highlight videos of the event for them. Along with that we do interviews with celebrities. In the past year to increase cash flow we began the Concierge part of our company which is based in Miami where we rent yachts, cars, mansions for events and hotel suites out to people. All our services can be found on our website

What separates our company is we filter out the nonsense and try to report things that matter or that our audience cares about. If I would to say one thing I am most proud of with our company it would be the network of relationships we have made through events we were granted access to. In an industry that has so much nepotism and cutthroat mentality, my partner and I have managed to get past all that and focus on our own lane. While TodaysLoop is not yet where we want it to be, we continue to make small wins until that big break comes.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Having been able to spend time in LA for business I would definitely say if you are looking to start out in LA then just make sure you are prepared. I’m not the guy who’s going to tell you to stay in your city until you blow up. Sometimes you need change of environment and new connections to make things happen. However if starting in LA just ensure financially you can maintain yourself, don’t get caught up in the fast life and drugs and most importantly be true to yourself. Yes! I do feel like LA is great for my business. There’s always events going on, new people to meet, the Valley a couple hours away and any given day could be your big break.
